Samsung ln32d450g1d No picture after changing main board.

Tv turns on. Can see the backlight cut on and get no picture. Thought the power supply was good too so ordered the main board figuring that was the issue.. got the new board in and still no picture. I double checked by trying to open the menu and nothing happens.. help please?

can you post some pictures of the boards used in your tv also have you tested any voltages yet on the psu?
How long roughly is the backlight on for a couple of seconds? if so this could possibly be be a faulty invertor or ccfl

the backlight stays on all the time no issue there.. Just the picture seems to not come up. I tested all the voltages that i could read off the board and they seemed to be just fine. *should also mention that it blinks 5 times when it's turned on*

ok theres one more board under the metal cover the ribbon cable on the mainboard goes to it thats the tcon board theres a fuse we need to see what voltage you get on each side of the fuse.

Is the mainboard for that exact Lcd and not just any random one ?

Yes i got the correct one. went by the model number on the old one.. i'll have to get some time to get to the tcon *i didn't even think about it because i couldn't find the part on any parts stores* I'm gonna guess its one of the tcons that are ribbon cabled to the panel? i'll test it when i get the chance tonight

no its seperate from the lcd maybe if its a common failure is why you dont see them listed but yes remove the shield etc take a picture of it and note the board number and and also test the fuse too

Unfortunantly it's what i feared.. it's a tcon that's ribboned to the panel.. i checked the fuse which is rated 125v 3a and it's getting only 12v to 13v.
Just bought the service manual and i now have check points i can use. Sadly i think that maybe the main is ok now and it's the tcon.. i'll check points though and see what i can find.

"i checked the fuse which is rated 125v 3a and it's getting only 12v to 13v." The Voltage rating of the fuse is not what the Applied Voltage to the circuit is, it is the MAX Voltage the fuse can be use safely, so you do have 12VDC for running the T-CON, 125V to the T-CON board would have produce nice smoke.
Try having one ribbon able between the T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at a time to see if you get the picture on half of the screen or not, make sure to put the cables back in place properly.

thanks.. i'll mess with it and see.. It's actually one huge ribbon cable that attaches to the bottem of the panel from the tcon.. i wonder if i have gotten a bad main board then??

Can we see the pictures of the whole backside of the TV?
It sounds like you have one of those LCD panel with tab bonding board on the bottom edge of the LCD panel which will be bad news if someone clean the panel improperly.

ive never myself saw a bonded tcon to a panel on a 32 in set i have saw it loads of times on smaller models is there a white sticker on the metal tv chassis that tells you what panel is used in the tv as it may give us some idea of voltages etc to test

I believe that there is a tcon board under the cover since googling does come up with it.

You measured 12v on both sides of the fuse ?

Based on post 3 pictures, the tab bond is on the bottom edge of the panel, he wil need to get the metal cover off to see if the Tcon is under the cover or it is one of those panel with integrated Tcon. I cannot read the panel model number to verify.
