LG 50pn6500 no video
Checked the power supply voltage and it looks good. Backlight comes on. None of the buttons works though and the logic board blinks like 1, 2, long 3, 4. I know the main boards have a habit of going out and i was just seeing that it sounded like the problem and if there is a good place to find one or a possible subsitute. thanks -

thanks.. i'll mess with it and see.. It's actually one huge ribbon cable that attaches to the bottem of the panel from the tcon.. i wonder if i have gotten a bad main board then?? -

Unfortunantly it's what i feared.. it's a tcon that's ribboned to the panel.. i checked the fuse which is rated 125v 3a and it's getting only 12v to 13v.
Just bought the service manual and i now have check points i can use. Sadly i think that maybe the main is ok now and it's the tcon.. i'll check points though and see what i can find.Last edited by jdoncouse; 10-29-2016, 03:58 PM.Leave a comment:

Yes i got the correct one. went by the model number on the old one.. i'll have to get some time to get to the tcon *i didn't even think about it because i couldn't find the part on any parts stores* I'm gonna guess its one of the tcons that are ribbon cabled to the panel? i'll test it when i get the chance tonightLeave a comment:

the backlight stays on all the time no issue there.. Just the picture seems to not come up. Tv turns on. Can see the backlight cut on and get no picture. Thought the power supply was good too so ordered the main board figuring that was the issue.. got the new board in and still no picture. I double checked by trying to open the menu and nothing happens.. help please? -

Ok saw only a spot labeled like this -<--vy-->+ with a resistor in the middle hopefully this was the point i was suppose to test. for vy 189.5 and for the resistor spot for vsc 135.2v *also check where the y-sus connects to the buffer board for vsc. at that spot said 39.5v for vscLeave a comment:

Ok small update.. check the voltages all the 15v are around 17.3-4 the 5v are near 4.8 and the 193v are near 193v ... the logic board is blinking like a long blink then a short blink.. or __ . _ if that says anything i looked at the service manual and it sucks really. nothing good in it. thanks for the help so farLeave a comment:

Have a friend who brought me a lg 50PQ10-UB he explained there was an issue with its power button *which i could see why. it sucks* but they said after the tv got put together again after fixing the power button something *popped* and although the tv is working in the menus it is very staticy? with lots of weird pink dots. and when i plugged my snes to it to test how the video works. It's got a huge burn-in issue. Nothing like i've ever seen in a plasma before. there's letters staying on the screen for long periods of time. This is something new i've never seen and would like some opinions. I... -

had an interesting startup.. I tried to get it to boot up again after waiting a hour or so.. i finally got it to boot again with just the main board plugged .. after i had it booted i plugged in the logic board to see if it would kick it off I got two blinking leds *the right one and the left bottem led* they both blink simultaneously. i'm gonna post youtube to links to what it is doing in a littleLeave a comment:

OK so i received this broken beast after the people didn't want to pay for the power board which was defiantly one of the issues..* it would just do this humming noise over and over no voltages where right at all.* I have someone who wants to take it off my hand but wants me to fix it too. So first thing i did was get the power board. Put that in and here's where i'm at. 1. with everything Ysus, X, mainboard, and logic plugged in It clicks and I see the green light on the logic for a split second as the power board click and it goes out again it does this either 3 or 4 times before it stops completely... -

Have same set I'm currently about to work on the owners say it cuts on then shuts down after a few seconds and there's the flashing red light I'm sure from the logic board any thoughts before I take a look at it? Sorry forgot to post about that. I was gonna get the inverters but it's 61 bucks I wanted to make sure i at least got picture going before i went and shelled out for the inverters. But no i'm still not getting picture on it even after changing that cable and the t-con board. they was just the cheapest and i wanted to make sure the panel worked before i got the inverter boards. otherwise i get to tell my friend that he bought 80 bucks worth of nothing.Leave a comment:

So i get a t-con board *and cable from the main board to the t-con because a wire was borked on it* since it was the cheapest item for it that i could get.. Now when i'm turning it on I can hear a buzzing sound from the board that is connected to the panel. I'm beginning to feel that this tv isn't worth fixing anymore. any thoughts?Leave a comment:
