    Bad T-Con or LCD Panel?

Hi, I have an Element ELEFT506 lcd TV with what I think is a bad t-con board based on this model's track record from bad user reviews, but I'm a newbie.

At one point there were a few horizontal lines at the very top of the screen but just for a few minutes. The rest of the time it looks like in the pictures I've attached. I tried fiddling with the LVDS connector with no change and also the t-con to lcd connectors/ribbons. When I disconnect the left t-con to lcd ribbon the right side works perfectly with no distortion or lines. But if I disconnect the right ribbon the left side remains the same. As soon as I reconnect the left ribbon the whole screen goes bad again.

I don't feel confident buying a new t-con board without a second opinion.

    Help please

If you can get good pictures when having only one ribbon cable between the T-CON and the LCD panel then you have bad panel.

+1 looks like one of the horizontal gate in glass drivers has failing taking the whole panel down. Guessing its a Samsung panel ?

TCL 43S423 TCON OR PANEL FAULTY???
          by netgearnetgear
Good day, I have a TCL TV: Model 43s423. After turning ON the TV, the ROKU TV logo appears with fine lines over the whole screen, then after a while there are vertical bands in the middle of the screen top to bottom and the TV tries to update its firmware but I do not have the remote to connect it to my new network connection. Also the Power ON light blinks 2 times in quick succession. When I remove the ribbon on the right of the tcon board the left side of the screen shows but with fine lines. If I remove the left side ribbon and connect the right side ribbon the whole screen is blank with...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
          by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
          by AK_777
          Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

          TCL 49S405 double image
          by howardc64
LCD displays a 2nd image slighty offset vertically. And multiple pairs of black lines along the bottom. Probably common as google "TCL 49S405 double image" pulls up this ifixit post ( link ) with identical ( nearly, but their fault seems to be on the other half of the panel than mine ) problem without solution.

This one looks to be a more difficult to diagnose because most? of TCON seems integrated ( CSOT BGA on buffer baord) into the left panel edge board ( looking from rear of TV) There are 2 buffer boards for each 1/2 of the screen. Main connects to the left buffer board...

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
          by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...
