Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]

Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession.

UN65RU730D - Bad Backlight / Good panel [ I've already attempted to replace the backlight and the replacement does not work on part of the TV ].

    UN65NU6900 - Non-working / Apparent bad main board

I do have another 65" that has a panel that is shot [ spider web cracked / full black / no pic ] but cannot remember the model number.

So, those here with more repair experience, can I use the one of the known or assumed good panels on the other TV's on the TU8000?

They appear to be the same or very similar to each other. I have not been able to locate the service manual for the RU730D anywhere. I did find the service manuals for the TU8000 and NU6900. The manuals list the panel types as 65B6AU0GT and 65A6AUANN respectively.

I dont want to toss good parts or screw up a good panel due to some incompatability that I dont know of. And I especially dont want to fork out for a replacement panel.

If I can't swap the panels, then could the ribbon cable be salvaged on the original panel?

I patiently await the wisdom of those who know better than I.

Sorry about the bad edit job on the photo.

List the panel numbers of each tv, label/sticker should be on the back chassis someplace, also list the full model version FA01, Fa02 etc, should be on the back cover.

Don't any of the other ribbon cables match, count the pins.

UN65RU730D mainboard might work in UN65NU6900, look both mainboards over very closely see how they match up and check those model versions on the back covers.

I'm not talking about the mainboard; but the LCD panels on these.

I have pics of the model stickers but not of the sticker on the metal chassis of the TV's.

Lol, ok I see it's a panel ribbon that has the hole in it, I thought it was one of the ffc cables.

I see, I thought you were trying to make one tv work from the various parts.

That is exactly what I am asking... Can the LCD.panel from one of these with a good LCD but other issues replace the one that has a broken LCD but otherwise working?

putting the numbers here for easy reference .. as i see the differences between these need to be found to see if somehow compatible . 65B6AU0GT and 65A6AUANN
are these the complete panel numbers ?

From the service manuals that I have been able to find. I have to reopen the backs of a couple of them to get the info off of the sticker on the chassis.

I did confirm matching info on the TU8000 of 65B6AUOGT from the chassis sticker.

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.

TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

                            tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 - Pink vertical lines due to chipped LCD panel?
                            by Anonmis
Hello all, I was recently repairing my Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 tv from the common burnt backlight LED's and cracked light guide panel issue. After replacing the LED's and putting the TV back together, I tested the tv and all I was getting was sound but no image. Somewhere along the way (could be related to the next issue) the T-Con board became damaged and after replacing it I have made a little bit of progress but now have bright pink vertical lines and still no image.

The bigger issue .... I took the TV apart again and realized that I likely didn't sit the LCD panel correctly...

                            Hello Community,

                            I'm working on a Samsung UE70TU7020K.

It looks like a bad panel. There is only 1 FPC cable from the Tcon (built into mainboard) to the panel.

I'm using a piece of tap a few mils (covers about 8-10 pins), at different locations and have had varying results but nothing that is remotely watchable (multiple lines across all the screen, half screen and total black out on screen). The buffer board is divided into 3 boards. I've disconnected the end board one at a time but each time the screen was totally black. I presume it's because the potential...
