Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46W-5100 Vertical Lines
Just took another picture like the first one. I think it was the camera angle that didn't show the right side lines on the first one. They are faint, but there.
Attached both.
Included a third picture that may show the lines better, again, some are faint. The picture appears clear behind the lines.
The lines appear completely across the screen.Last edited by NickSteel; 10-05-2016, 11:02 AM.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46W-5100 Vertical Lines
you would do yourself a great favor IF you drive the set with a known test pattern signal... then there will be no guessing as to what to expect. Just to make sure it isn't something else like as suggested... cable / ribbon problem.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46W-5100 Vertical Lines
Thanks again.
I have no test pattern signal generator.
The attached picture is the clearest I can get. The screen has looked the same from the beginning, before and after re-seating the cables. Nothing has changed. Same vertical red lines.
I apologize for being such an amateur and realize it can be frustrating to deal with.Last edited by NickSteel; 10-07-2016, 09:59 AM.Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46W-5100 Vertical Lines
no problem... just for information, if you have a dvd player, just track down any of number of dvd's (usually ones with thx labels) that have various test screens in the supplemental material.
:-( disappointing that you haven't been able to impact / change the response of the screen.
what does the screen show when you only have one tcon cable plugged in (either side).Last edited by budwich; 10-07-2016, 10:07 AM.Comment

by gpo23Hello,
i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :
With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :
I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)
Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?
Thank you for your help

by Stanley1843Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

by thstuffThis "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.
Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.
2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...01-30-2023, 05:01 PM -
by dustman1747I have acquired a Sony XBR-65X900H to try and fix. It probably was a complete no power situation. The main board was replaced and the TV started turning on. I now have start sounds and backlights, but no image. I've replaced the t-con with no improvement. Cables all appear to be ok and seated properly. The TV took a firmware update and hard reset but neither helped.
Using the tape trick I can get both side to display combinations of colored vertical lines. There is no change in the stripes and the pattern always appears the same. If I add additional tape strips I can get the screen... -
by iampivotI have a Sony 55x8000f that has three vertical lines (three different colors), with the lines still showing when the cable from t-con board to the panel is disconnected. Am wondering what might be causing this? Unfixable panel problem?
