Panasonic TX-P46GT30 Saved from the beasts.

Funny title? No i truly saved a Panasonic from a maniac.

Last weekend i saw this nice tv on a german auction site. ( Ebay kleinanzeigen ).
It was listed for $30 but it was a 2.5 hour drive. Price was of course ok but the 5 hour drive total.....

Had a day off from work today , nice weather and i thought , lets do this!

Tv was listed as "Its completely dead , no blinks etc".
Got there and the german guy said , well at first it was blinking 7 times and now its completely dead. I was like hmm.....7 blinks to dead?

Gave him the money and hoped for the best. Got home , plugged in the mains and yep , its dead!
I opened the back cover and immediately saw the bad soldering on the y-sus board. ( See pictures ).
The tv had no standby so i checked the fuses but they were all ok. Removed both power supply's , It has a small and big one , and looked at the back of the boards and again soldering......

I have a 50VT30 ( And other Panasonic's ) in parts so i slowly started to replace boards. Replaced both power supply's and still dead! Replaced mainboard and AAAHH , Its alive but cripple. 7 blinks as i expected with the soldering.

So i took a closer look at the TNPA5335 and i was like , Owww boy if this tv is ever gonna work with this board i'll eat my shoes haha. First of all , the soldering. I mean seriously? If you solder like this , please quit! This is barbecuing tbh!

This guy replaced ALL parts with 30F131 , even the part where originally was NO PART SOLDERED , he soldered a 30F131.
    He replaced RF1501 with a 30F131 <---

Eventually , it took me the whole evening rebuilding this board with scrap boards. I replaced all bad parts with original replacement parts and i had to replace ALL driver ic's. ( IC501 / IC502 + 5 legged transistors ). I still got 6 blinks after 3 or 4 repairing attempts.

In the end i found a short between ground and C813 , its the energy recovery circuit. Diodes 674/673 + Q661 were short. Removed Q661 and short was gone on both diodes and capacitor.
I also replaced the small resistor in front of Q661 and finally the tv turned on! Picture is perfect.

Will give it its first test run tomorrow and clean up the board + extra cooling. Just look at the pictures. This guy managed to get a 7 blinker so dead that i had to rebuild the y-sus board + replace power supply and mainboard.

    How? LOL

I love Panasonic's! Anyways , another one saved from a maniac and will post some pictures of the final board tomorrow!

      Thanks m8!

It looks a bit like this. The panel is smaller. On my tv the SC20 cable is hidden under the power supply. Will post some pictures tomorrow!

I thought my 3 hour drive for a 55gt30 was extreme. I'd did cost me $100 but bigger than a42".

I had too a 5 hours drive for a 50v20, and it was like 75 euros, but... no way near this condition.
This guy has the ultimate way to fix things. maybe he knows something that we don't know; maybe I should replace all parts in the A board with BC170 transistors, and then I can receive for free any program, even see movies that were not launched yet
Maybe he still has something else to sell? hahahha

Haha true! It might have cost me $40 for gas so $70 in total.

I still dont know how he managed to kill a 7 blinker. All boards except SS board were dead ....lol

Picture of the final board and the back of the tv. Board was butchered but in the end i cleaned it as much as i could. Added heatsinks with thermal plaster.
The wire between the powersupply's was damaged also , replaced it with a longer one.

The plaster and heatsinks on the board does not look pretty but its very effective. Tv runs very cool compared with the original board.

                    Anyways , tv runs perfectly.

Did not have a shorter cable and the original was damaged. This works fine though.
Just looking at the board ..... i could have done this a bit cleaner. To much plaster , ow well next time.

I am trying to workout how you repaired the TNPA5335 BH board in the first photo but made it into into a TNPA5335 AGin the last ? now that is a good trick, got me beat how you did that . I know we all get magic smoke from time to time, but it has never done that for me ,and I have seen a lot of it ( magic smoke that is ) when i first started repairing some of these boards

I would also replace the missing 250v 190uf cap to C411 on the AG board, you should not run it like that in a 50" set,you are just tempting fate and another failed repair

I believe most repair shops on ebay don't add heat strips. These Igbts seem to run really hot. Is this a must for long term repair of the tnpa5335 boards ?

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?

After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

                                      Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....
