Samsung UE32F500 no power, no standby light

    Hi.
I got problem samsung ue32f5000 led tv. Last night it was working perfect, suddenly when i start today there is no power light or stand by light. I check the forum and do some test with power board. Its BN44-00605A. I check with voltage and i am getting 109v reading at Led connection without Led connection. Also when i unplug the main board cable from power board all Led light is glow. So i am confused is it problem with Power Board or Main board. Any one have step by step to check list for foult finding.
    Thanks for valuble time.

Report the DCV readings of all the pins of the connector CNM803, make sure to put pin names and pin number in front of the DCV readings so we can see what we are missing.

Re: Samsung UE32F500 no power, no standby light

Thanks for your reply budm & thoma..

I have checked DCV readings of all the pins of the connector CNM803 as below:

        Without Main board connection
        4.70v 1
        0 3
        4.70v 5
        0 7
        0 9
        5.24v 11
        3.12v 13

        2 12.86v
        4 12.86v
        6 12.86v
        8 12.86v
        10 0
        12 5.24v
        14 5.24v

When i Connecting Main board with power board and checked the same connection i got reading 0 (zero) for all pins.

Also i notice some burn mark on PCB at CM801 capacitor. When i checked capacitor its looks it working all right.

It will be nice if you put the name of each pin.
You must have count the pin wrong.
          For example:

          2 12.86v
          4 12.86v
          6 12.86v
          8 12.86v
If you list the name of each pin the you would have known that pin 8 is GND so you cannot have 12.86VDC at pin 8.
          Pin 8, 9, 10 are GND.
Post #3 request ' make sure to put pin names and pin number in front of the DCV readings '

Main Bd issue I think, as the LED Backlights come on with the Jack to the Mn Bd disconnected.

Is he talking about LED backlights?

"Also when i unplug the main board cable from power board all Led light is glow."

If that is the case, then I agree that he has problem some where on the main board.

                Thank you for your reply..

I have checked DCV readings of all the pins of the connector CNM803.

                Pin no
                2 4.70v
                4 0v
                6 4.70v
                8 0v
                10 0v
                12 5.24v
                14 3.12v

                1 12.86v
                3 12.86v
                5 12.86v
                7 12.86v
                9 0v
                11 5.24v
                13 5.24v

I think i wrote down in wrong pin number first time.
Why its showing 0 voltage when main board connecting with power board and power supply is switch on? As soon as i disconnect with main board from power supply board i got ALL LED light lit and shows voltage reading. How do i checked main board is working or not?

Re: Samsung UE32F500 no power, no standby light

The power supply board has pull-up resistors to pull up PS-ON and BL-ON pin high so you can do the self test to find out if the Power supply, LED driver, and the LED backlitghts are OK or not.
When you have the board connected to the main board, if the main board is bad it will not allow the control pins to go high (they should if the main board is OK). Another tip that shows the main board is the problem is that you do not have any indicator lights.

As I indicated, if you disconnect the cable between the power supply and the main board and then you apply the power to the TV and the backlights come on and stay on then your power supply/LED driver board and the LEDs are OK, simple as that.

Don't get ahead of yourself, just do that what budm already said. If it makes you feel better, I think the problem is the main board, same as already others have mentioned.

Glad you managed to fix your set and thanks for the update. mainboard problems are hard to trace and repair imo unless its something like a fuse/capacitor/resistor or voltage regulator etc the main processor seems to be a common failure with bad bga soldering etc.

Thanks for follow-up, please make sure to turn down the backlights level as low as you can so the LEDs will last much longer.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                        Assuming...

                                        Hi All,

                                        Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

                                        Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

                                        by repair-it
I am attempting to test a samsung power supply board to verify the pfc ic is working. I am powering up the board with my isolation transformer. The board turns on fine but when I attempt to connect the ground for the scope probe, it trips out the isolator. I was taught not to 'float my scope' so I am wondering if I should test without connecting the ground lead or would that be asking for trouble? Not sure how else to test, I don't have a portable scope. I could plug direct to mains power but that would bypass the safety factor.

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                        After all of...
