    Philips 32PFL3403D/F7 No picture

    Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some help with this tv.

With both connectors hooked up, I plug in power and have
5v on the connector pins marked 5v. There is no power indicator
light on. I turn the tv on with the button, and no indicator lights still.

(When I first started looking at it, I could turn it on with the remote
also and a white indicator light came on, but no more)

Now with the power on, I see 24V, 12V, 5v and 2.42V on the STB pin.
The INV ENA pin shows 0.10V and the DIM pin reads 0.05V.

If I power on with the left cable disconnected and then remove power,
when I plug that left cable back into the left board, a flash of blue
light comes from behind the perforated cover.

Is this all showing me a bad main board? What's up with that blue flash?

    Thanks for any tips,
    Jeff

From your readings I would say bad mainboard.

          Thanks.
The main board is 715T2838-2. There is a -1 board available for sale. Should that work?
Also, would applying a ~3V battery to INV ENA and DIM tell me anything useful, or might it be a smoke-making mistake?

OP here. So I replaced the main board (a -1 replacement instead of -2)

Now I have INV ENA 3.3V and DIM 3.3V coming into the power board
and exiting the power board into the left board.
            Still no picture.

There is still no light indicating 120V in,
but I can turn the power on with the button or the remote, resulting
in a white power light coming on, however, I can only turn it OFF with the remote.

Seems like it only sort of fixed the main board problems.

            What thinks?

Well. I have a live screen after finding a loose LCD cable, however.
After turn on, it tries to find active channels, scanning ....
Looking at SOURCE it says next source TV AV1 etc and when it finishes
scanning TV source it scrolls quickly through the options and keeps
              rescanning TV over and over.

Putting up the menu, it simply scrolls rapidly through every choice on
the menu and repeats scrolling scrolling scrolling..... unstoppable.

              >by scrolling, I don't mean the picture scrolls up the screen - the cursor
              scrolls through the selections.

              What now? Anyone?

Sounds like the button board is also broken, and try disconnecting it and power the set up.

That was a good idea, but it didn't change anything.
                  Thanks

If you disconnected the button board from the TV and it still scrolls, make sure the batteries are out of the remote and see if it still does it. Also check the connector for the button board and see if anything changes when you press the button. Compare it to the other buttons when you press them.

Disconnecting the button board it does still scroll.

Batteries out of remote - still scrolls

Batteries out of remote - button board:
Volume up - causes momentary pause (cmp)
                      Volume down - cmp
Menu - cmp, but does not bring up menu.
                      Channel up - cmp
Channel down - has no effect
Power - cmp, but doesn't turn the TV off (but it will turn TV on).

sounds like the wrong mainboard fitted or your replacement is faulty the problem could be its not a exact match does your new board match your old board numbers on all stickers etc ie the one starting with cb--------

The CB-- is the same, but the other big number -2 is a -1.

The good folks at paylesscomponents in KC (on ebay) are
letting me return the board for the cost of shipping.

I originally searched for the part using the TV model number.
Now, using the CB- number turns up a couple of boards with a -2 suffix
(also a couple with a -3 suffix, but just what I need is one more variable).

                            I shall try again.
                            Thanks for the inputs.

Do phillips sets suffer from eeprom issues? if so would a eeprom issue cause the faults your having with your original mainboard? it maybe worth looking on shop jimmy and see if they list one for your mainboard and see what faults a replacement eeprom may solve, im not saying this is the problem with your mainboard but worth investigating i guess.

                                Good thought.
The symptoms Shop Jimmy shows do not coincide with what I am
seeing, but I would almost give it a try if replacing the board
                                hadn't started showing such promise.
$15 EEPROM very iffy versus $50 main board maybe. I think I
will go ahead with a different matching main board.
                                Thanks.
