Sony KDL-52ex700 and others 6 blink possible fix

have a kdl-52ex700 couldnt find any info on for the 6 blinks, yea backlight code, but why? LEDs tested fine, power supply looked fine(at first) main board was sending voltages to turn on BL and dimming control. but service manual says main board or panel.... well before you go throwing money at it, check out fuse to ground PS6800(circled) and Q6814(circled) replaced these 2 components and good to go. hope i saved someone a headache

YES Sir!!...The original post really is true....I got one but in my case the fuse to ground was the problem....I temporarily connected a normal 0.5A fuse and the backlights came on....the set worked for 10hrs straight and no problem...I closed up the set and could not figure out why the fuse alone went....Returned the set to owner...this was Dec 2016....just spoke to the owner and the set working still....Great post...

thanks for such a great info. u made my day thanks...

checked fuse to ground was open and Q6814 was shorted gate to source...placed 11n90 instead of k4096...and fuse shorted direct to ground...still 6 time blinking...

Gate-Drain-Source pins the same? What about current rating etc....I didn't compare the specs for both transistors.

one 100ohms resistor on pin 6 of ic2904 was open due to gate to source shorting..replaced that and ..backlight came...but 2-3 led are also damaged in my case...need to replace them..

Thanks someone gave me a KDL-46EX701. A .5 A fuse did the trick .

How do you know the name of this leds to replace each? 6v or 3v for this leds? this leds have 6 pins and not have similar footprint

The led's on this tv are probably 3v unless it is edge lit

IC 2904 it is IC6803 but pin 6 is not connected

Just replaced the fuse and now the TV works again!

If i had followed the service manual - i would have replaced the BAL board and obviously this would not have fixed the problem
