Found this thread looking for the answer before i began my 2 long 3 short blink error. the 3.3V comes from IC 9606 on the main board. I had about 1.4v on the output but that wasnt my issue. Sharps schematics are less than helpful so manually tracing everything back, i found my 2.3V regulator to be bad. its IC 9601. This 2.3V buck regulator feeds a switching IC on the back of the board at Q9604. Without the 2.3V supply it will never switch this transistor and pull pin 2 LOW on IC9606(your 3.3V buck regulator) Start by checking pin 2...Leave a comment:

Was reading up one these 80" models last few days as i have come across the same issue. First its not a bad panel, even if it was it wouldnt have anything to do with the LEDS going into OVP. The issue is on the 80s there are 15 LED strips, but the LED driver has 16 channels. Channel 9 is used in only the 90" versions that use the same board, but because the 80" has one less channel that one is open. i could not find a datasheet on the LED driver chip but if you look at the 9th channel you will see it is the only one that has...Leave a comment:

LC-52D85UN making different software sharp boards WORK
i promised myself if i made this work i would share it with you all and it did so here it goes.
finding the right board number may be easy but matching your software numbers are not always available. it can be pretty frustrating so after checking out the service manual and finally locating the program IC i was able to pull the IC from the old board and place in into my new board. this is IC8453. its on the bottom side of the board under the metal casing. attached pictures as well. easiest way to remove is just some hot air take your time dont heat it too fast or too long. then... -
Sony KDL-52ex700 and others 6 blink possible fix
have a kdl-52ex700 couldnt find any info on for the 6 blinks, yea backlight code, but why? LEDs tested fine, power supply looked fine(at first) main board was sending voltages to turn on BL and dimming control. but service manual says main board or panel.... well before you go throwing money at it, check out fuse to ground PS6800(circled) and Q6814(circled) replaced these 2 components and good to go. hope i saved someone a headache

**THE FIX**(i hope)
i loaded up a completely different set of leds and soldered the strips into series. 54 on one line and 56 on the other. ran perfect. so dropped one out and put in 1 set from the TV, worked perfectly, so i swapped to the other set in the tv and that side worked perfectly as well. so i put both sides together for the fun of it and bam! fired right up. only thing that changes was the crimping on the cables got cut off and stripped to bare wire. so soldered wires straight to board...Leave a comment:

ok so heres the update, the led driver still will not do anything more than power up those 2 sets off 54 leds for more than a hot second, but it will power on and stay on at 180v to 2 sets of 56leds each side of a strip i had laying around out of a samsung.
also i hooked the other power supply up(890-pf0-5501) that i was using to test the leds on this rca and it still lights every single led up. what the fockk pics attached
(the bar has 56 leds per half in series.)

ok so this is what happens, i started from the beginning to see what was going on.
using main board
-turn power on, 350v at main cap, leds flash, then voltage drops to 158v on main cap.
-will not come back up unless i unplug and plug it back in
manually applying 4v to ps on, then 4v to BLon
-cap stays at 350V the whole time 4v is supplied to pson
-when 4v is applied to BLon, leds flash. cannot get voltage back up without unplugging and plugging back in.

ok so i just noticed something here, on my primary im only getting 160V DC usually i at least get 168VDC in a standby state, but i am switching this power supply on using the PSon making it high with a 4v input. when i turn the leds on it drops to 150s. on this power supply doesnt the transformer L102 which i have circled, up the voltage to 350-380 range? main cap is rated at 450V....Leave a comment:

there is no led controller, its all zener diodes, resistors and caps.
and yes the leds work perfectly every one lit and stays lit using a board from another set (part number is 890-pf0-5501)
also i just swapped the driver ICs on the primary side, made no difference, also if i short the photocoupler in the picture on the primary side it does the same thing, leds light up and falls. it actually does this in 2 quick pulses, either way i turn it on, with main board or by shorting...Leave a comment:

have a LED55G55R120Q the LED driver is built into the power supply, uses 2 sets of 6 row LED strips, 9 leds per strip. so 54 leds per channel. running at 179volts peak. the issue is when i trigger the backlight on, even manually by supplying 4v to the BLon and Adj the leds light and fall right on its face.
replaced with an ebay "supposed working board"
tested all LEDs(working) tested by running to a board from another set i had using a 174volt source.
replaced main board(reason i tried this was because while messing around with the power supply i can get... -

well replacing the SSB took care of that. 4 hours later of geometry adjustments and the fun game of crosshair lineup it came out nicely. btw replacement ssb was only $45 on ebay cant believe they still have parts of these sets on thereLeave a comment:
