But the panel back in.. no change.. It doesn't even attempt to turn on past a click and then click right back off.. Maybe a slight flash of backlights..
Any Sony techs out there, what is this orange/green flash mean!?Comment

i repeat it again yours replacment MB defect or not match. betters let focus on yours original MB to find the fault on it.Comment

Well I downloaded the latest software and put it on a USB drive, and plugged the TV in.
I saw some activity on the drive so I left it alone for a while. Came back and there was no more flashing lights. Unplugged the TV, removed drive and plugged in the TV again, and BAM the TV came on with OSD and a snowy pic from the tuner.... for about 5 seconds, then went out with the now 4 red blinks..
I guess we're making progress!!Comment

Well getting to this point was a huge break thru.. then finally getting a blink code error (4 blink error = LED error, LD_ERR).
Well I had a LED driver board I had ordered when I first got the TV. Put that in and TV finally seems to be fixed!
So it looks like at the end, bad:
1) Main board
2) Bad LEDs
3) Bad LED driver
4) New main board needed software update to work
Wonder if it was hit by lightning...

ive read this thread a few times now as i have the same model which was apparently knocked out in a storm where i have no standby light and no volts on the secondary "12v" side of the power supplies, i have replaced both power supplies with no luck so next is main board and firmware upgrade, from what i can gather from the thread the driver was the last thing to be replaced so were the LED'S faulty at all?Comment

Need help just changed my main board now it turns on and shuts off right away, green and amber light flashing..how can i update my firmware since it shuts off after a second is there any other procedure

Thank you kevin i did your procedure but no luck i only saw 3 blinks on my usb drive and never saw any activity after that i dont know if im doing it wrong. Or maybe my usb is not compatible?
1)Unpluged tv then put usb
2)plug tv then saw the usb blink 3 times and left it for awhile
3)power on tv still the same problemComment

A) TV initially dead
B) On a hunch of a locked up Google OS, plugged in a USB memory stick with latest FW and plugged it in. It booted into the update screen, completed the update and restarted to Home screen.
C) Was able to perform a Reset from Settings menu and completed out of box configuration.
D) Ran a 4K screen saver demo for about 6 hours, then turned it off for the day. Did not notice any stripes, dead zones or other artifacts in the image.
E) Powered back on and it now runs for a few minutes before relay clicks, screen goes blank, Main Board Red Digital Optical... -

black screen ,no STB no life almost death.
on PS all the required volts are present 394V on the main cap and those on cold side 12.41V,3.45 and 3.45 are on
Also 3,5,and 12v are on.
nothing happens if i disconnect the PSU from the mainboard as on Samsung because here i think the mainboard gives the signal to the ps.
don't know what to do next all suggestions and advice are very welcome​... -
Hi,
My Sony W905 started to turn itself off an on every few minutes and blinking 8 times red in standby. A few minutes later the tv was completely dead.
I can only hear the click of the PSU when attaching/detaching the power cable. No standby LED.
Any advice? Thanks! -

I have a KDL-55W755c that came in dead - not even standby light going on. Tested the power supply - all correct. Tested the output pins on the Led driver board (in which the power cord plugs in) - all seemed fine.
I got a service manual for this model and tested the DC/DC converter by checking voltages on selected components. Every voltage was present where it should be. Service manual says that in this case a "Muffin" replacement is needed. This is the moment where I got stuck as I wasn't able to Google my way through it - till this day I... -
Buenas mi nombre es carlos me uni al foro porque estoy buscando el schematic de una sony vaio pcg-41217u otras formas de escribirlo son 1p-0117j01-a012 mbx-237 numero de placa revision 1.2 o Sony VPCSB (MBX-237), en fin me gustaria y ayudaria un monton si alguien me puede dar dichi svhematic para hacer las mediciones de una laptop de la mencionada anteriormente(Sony VAIO PCG-41217U) con el fin de repararla dejo de funcionar solo prende el led de la bateria al pulsar el boton de power el disco empiesa a hacer ruido de actividad pero los leds del frontas no reflejan acividad y no enciende la pantalla....
