Re: sony lcd vertical line
COF (chip on film) address driver for the screen. Some area of the chip break down causing rows on the Lcd to do weird things like what you have pictured. Its bonded to the Lcd and not replaceable so its scrap sorryPlease Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: sony lcd vertical line
Hey why not just chop that tab off (address column for that tab will go black) and then fo the same for the end right hand tab and just have a 4:3 Tv ? If not maybe the Tv needs a meeting with your foot lolPlease Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. by TrueSword88Hi all.
I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).
The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.
Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

by almarhumHas one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?
As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...-

by blake.sI have a sony kdl-70r550a that has a yellow vertical line in it on the right side of the screen. I am trying to determine if this is the panel tabs or if the t-con. T-con usual is not the issue if there are vertical or horizontal lines correct?
Attached are some pictures. You can see the right side has a discolored vertical line.

by gpo23Hello,
i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :
With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :
I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)
Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?
Thank you for your help

by mrsithHi.
Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.
This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.
Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's... - Loading...
