Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from the t-con to the lower driver boards to see if the stripe would move. I pressed on the connections on the t-con and the panel and driver board to try getting a reaction out of the stripe. I have factory reset the tv. None of these affected the red line. The red line is only there when the TV is on, it does go away when it is turned off. I can't seem to figure out how to do a firmware update via the menu and haven't pursued it much doubting that will fix this. Any suggestions of things to check, I'm a capable DIYer but have no formal training on boards and repairs so please don't be afraid to dumb things down a bit. At this point I'm guessing a fault in the t-con, bad tab on the panel (but would have expected a reaction from pressing on the tab if this was the case), or a bad connection somewhere. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer. The guy I got the tv from said there were no lines before the screen went black so I don't know when the line issues was caused.
