I recently acquired a 55" Vizio Smart TV with intermittent video (actually, no backlight). The previous owner said that it would work for a while, then NOT work for days. When I brought the TV home, everything was working properly. After a few days, the backlight just went dark. A check of the power supply showed ~21V being properly output - but not getting to the LED driver board - connector CN202 had no voltage on it.

Removing the PS board revealed that the backside of connector CN202 had EVERY SOLDER JOINT FRACTURED!

After some rework of the solder joints to remove the lead-free solder and put down regular 60-40.

When reassembling the PS board back into the chassis, EXTREME CARE should be observed, since the CN202 connector requires a LOT of force to properly mate. If you do not support the pins during mating, THEY MAY FRACTURE AGAIN! So, do NOT use pressure on the board, but put the pressure on the PINS! The joints are fracturing because the PS board is single-sided and only have support on the metal side.
