    Sharp LC-52LE640U flashing logo.

I just picked this tv up. Owner said he went to turn it on and wouldn't come one, just a flashing logo which I have verified. The flashing pattern is 1 slow one followed by 1 quick one.
He took it to repairman, who after taking it apart told him it needed a new psu for $130 plus labor.
He declined and bought a new tv.

I'd like to try my hand at fixing this psu at the component level before I try to just swap the board. So I need guidance from you masters.

    Thank you.

According to the service manual that indicates lamp error.
I'm going to quit messing with these damn led tvs.

Could you guys still help to diagnose an led problem for sure?

      I get 5v from pd-15 bu5v.
That's all. Nothing from the other pins on that connector.

you have to "fool" the power supply to come on but "strapping" the "PS_ON" signal coming from the main board to the ps. This usually done thru a resistor to the 5v supply.

I have some resistors. What do you mean strapping the PS_ON coming from the main board to the ps?
I'm afraid I need a lot of hand holding.

I looked at a YouTube video, I'm not getting any voltage on the ps_on as the video shows. The only voltage I get it 5v on bu5v.

            Re: Sharp LC-52LE640U flashing logo.

Well I found a couple of threads on here that seemed to have had the same issue as me initially.
They were able to reset the error code a couple different ways.
One user said "input plus volume -", another said "ch+ and vol-", neither worked in my case.
One of the users said he jumped ps_on with BU5v but doesn't say what he jumped it with.
Should I just solder a wire between the two from the bottom of the board?

I'm starting to get the impression that I may be persona non grata on the this forum.
If that's the case, someone just tell me so and I'll stop wasting my time, yours an forum space.
            Thanks.

Was able somehow to get it to turn on. When looking at it, the right side has a darker side then the left.
Would that indicated bad/shorted LEDs or something in the psu/inverter?

When I measure the red wire on the left side of the led connector I get 81.6v, the white wire is negligible.
The right red wire measures 127.4v and the white around 12v

are those voltages read with the connectors connected or left off. I would think that they should be the same and further, the board should have printed indications as to what they should be.

You have an Oc or shorted Led in the screen. You need to take it apart to test and replace them.

                      It's with the connectors off.

I was afraid of that. I was going to try to switch the wires around in the connector to see if it caused the other side to get dark and the dark side to get brighter.

The last set I tried to replace the led for, a 50" Emerson, I cracked the screen when putting it back on.
This one is even bigger. I wonder if these are edge led or back lit LEDs?

Switching the wires didn't help. I guess it is the led.

Yes for you. After watching your video I thought so too. Now I'm sitting on a set of LEDs for a 50" Emerson that cost me $70.
Looking on YouTube, this set seems to have edge strip LEDs. I could not find the edge strips anywhere for the Samsung un40d6400 that had two shorted strips.

Not sure if I could get more of ou this set by selling it as is or once I break the screen and have to sell the individual boards.
It's a shame. The left side has a great picture in my opinion. Better than the 5 or 6 led Tvs I've fixed and sold.
I might have kept this one.

                                          Hey guys,

I have a SHARP LC-60LE640X TV that has suddenly developed an intermittent fault of flashing white noise patches (appears like an Analog tuner off signal) and then totally dropping out.
This model I believe is also known as LC-60LE600U or LC-60LE640U in other regions.

FYI, a long time ago I was a component level repair tech for all consumer electronics and IT equipment.
I'm a bit rusty but still have ability to dig right down.

I measured all power supply lines and checked them for AC ripple voltage. Noting any lines that exceeded about...

Hey guys! It has been awhile since I've been on here. I hope everyone is doing well. I just picked up this Sharp lc-65ub30u. It plays but the screen is flashing on and off. Other than that i seems to be a great tv. Any ideas what the problem might be? I haven't pulled the back off yet. I thought I would get some opinions first. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

Elitebooks (820, 840 etc. all gens) and those continuously flashing Power LED + flashing CapsLock LED

As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

Hello again! I have come back for some wisdom and hopefully for some guidance with this problem I'm having. The TV is a 4k 55" Sharp LC-55p6050u and the problem is every other line of the bottom 32 lines flickers out, comes mostly back, then flickers out again, and repeats this continually. The lines on the bottom right of the screen go out completely while the lines on the bottom left are affected so slightly that it's almost impossible to see it. There is a gradual gradient from appearing almost perfectly fine on the bottom left, to an obvious problem on the bottom right.

                                          The...
