Hey guys! It has been awhile since I've been on here. I hope everyone is doing well. I just picked up this Sharp lc-65ub30u. It plays but the screen is flashing on and off. Other than that i seems to be a great tv. Any ideas what the problem might be? I haven't pulled the back off yet. I thought I would get some opinions first. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Here's pictures of the boards. The backlights are flashing on and off. Thinking it might be a bad power supply. What's your opinion?3 PhotosComment

This Sharp TV backlight settings are from +16 to -16. I set them all the way to -16 and nothing changed.Last edited by JunkmanJimbo; 09-07-2024, 02:47 PM.Comment

My ipotesis is that one or more sector power transistor led driver is not ok, the reason? The electrolitic caps i guess no, set is too.young, maybe all sector leds are gone, i dont think so, maybe controlling big IC has to be solder renewed because they driven bad those..Comment

Actually I don't see any shadows on the screen. Not saying they're not there but from what I can see the picture looks great except for the flashing. So, do you still think my problem is still the backlights? Is there any way it could be the LED driver board that's mounted on the power supply? Thanks for your help. If you still feel like it's the backlights I will pull the screen to check them but I probably can't do thet until Monday or Tuesday. Thanks again!Comment

Hey Diah. I decided to pull the yellow cable today. When I pulled the yellow cable between the LED driver board and the mainboard the backlights would not come on. When I plugged the cable back in the backlights still wouldn't come on. I had to unplug the power cord and plug it back in for the backlights to come back on, still blinkiing. What's your opinion on this? Thanks!

use yours DM in DC mode measure each channel of LED at start up you have 4 each have LED + & LED -
or try to unplug one channel at time.Comment

But why would the backlights stay on for another 20 seconds after I power off the TV?Comment

if remain ON for 20 seconds.... we need to tray log in first in service menu and do clear chip as hard reset... to avoid any mistake at BL_ON signal send BY MB.
also take out the power boards and the LED driver boards and inspect the down side of cracking joint solderComment

stay on for 20 seconds or it remain flashing for 20 seconds after you put it in STBY.=

Hello,
YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo
I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.
On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.
I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.
I changed the battery with a new and original battery.
I also had corrosion/oxidation on the... -
by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by EazyBoneAnother TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.
The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.
Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?... -
