Panasonic BluRay DMP-BD871 Freezes on hello display

I was given this unit to tinker with. When you first turn it on it appears to start fine...the display will say hello. You can eject the tray insert a disc and the tray will return. Then thats it. No functionality. Tray will no longer respond. Just one eject and return....Display never changes from "Hello"

Any ideas where to start checking?

Can you hear the disc spin up?

Maybe a firmware update will solve it:

Is anything being displayed on the TV or monitor that you have the player connected to?

need some test. insert USB at the front panel then plug it on at AC, keep eyes on the led indicator of the usb will light on / blinking or not.

use normal CD audio track and insert it, Hello will change to show track No or not.

Attempting firmware update now. 5 minutes into what it says could be a 12 minute update.

Not sure its going to do anything....Does not seem to be much activity outside of the disc spin....although I do here a rapid tick tick tick tick repeating that I did not hear when a movie or music CD was spinning.

Will edit post in about 15 minutes

EDIT 1 - I am doing the CD fw update opbviosly since I have no signal being sent to a screen

Been about 20 minutes...no change. Hello never left the screen and is still present. Im going to let it go a bit longer and then attempt the basic RESET I read about while letting this run.

I have an 88A and when I tested the Caps they all seemed ok

no go on firmware update...no go on reset.

System becomes unresponsive almost immediately after boot. I get 1 open from the open lose button...and then I have to push back to close manually.

on photo No2, the caps look funny, and the area around like some one try to repair AV section. take close look on them.

try to download this update again and write it on new CD-R not other one like CD-RW. and the eeprom with label on the Photo, heat it while you play the CD,

I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                                  Hi,
My laptop recently started freezing randomly - it usually freezes after a few minutes, sometimes after 2, other times 10 minutes.
So far I kind of ruled out software problems, as the problem persists on live booted Linux, installed Windows and also while installing Windows. My first thought was that it was overheating, so I checked the temps and they are fine, as You can see on the screenshot, never the less I opened it up and reapplied LM on both cores, also using some more thermal putty on the VRM, obviously didn't help.

While live booting Linux it usually freezes...

Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...
