no go on firmware update...no go on reset.
System becomes unresponsive almost immediately after boot. I get 1 open from the open lose button...and then I have to push back to close manually.Leave a comment:

Been about 20 minutes...no change. Hello never left the screen and is still present. Im going to let it go a bit longer and then attempt the basic RESET I read about while letting this run.

Attempting firmware update now. 5 minutes into what it says could be a 12 minute update.
Not sure its going to do anything....Does not seem to be much activity outside of the disc spin....although I do here a rapid tick tick tick tick repeating that I did not hear when a movie or music CD was spinning.
Will edit post in about 15 minutes

With USB plugged in...Light comes on and stays steady NO BLINK

I was given this unit to tinker with. When you first turn it on it appears to start fine...the display will say hello. You can eject the tray insert a disc and the tray will return. Then thats it. No functionality. Tray will no longer respond. Just one eject and return....Display never changes from "Hello"

Poly caps and CapAnalyzer 88A
Ok...here is my question...I have a XBOX 360 S ripped down...It would occasionally get the red ring of death.....but when it was given to me...I could turn on..and run around menus and the internet....but I did not have a game to put it under load......so I took apart with the idea of reseating the heatsink... two poly caps near the cpu/gpu under the heatsink have a light brown leakage around their area....So I tested with Capanalyzer...and sure enough...came back bad....but then I checked the bank of 6 on other side...and they also came back bad .....I used the 88a on a LCD board..and everything... -

I do not have this set physically in front of me....just trying to help troubleshoot it. Was told "DUE TO EXCESSIVE SHAKING OF THE TELEVISION BY CHILDREN, A MULTI-COLORED BAND STARTED SHOWING UP IN THE MIDDLE"

Thanks ecking....I was leaning that way...figure one last step is to check on shorting the eeprom to resest..... I see this talked about with samsungs...anyone ever do it for a Vizio?

I have a few questions about this same model TV. I picked it up "broken" for $30.....Owner said it was getting some blink code...I didn't even check it for that....I just took it apart....It was obviously from a smoking home...smelled and was just filthy inside.
So I used air compressor to clean out and I took off the power board first...and checked all the caps with my 88a. All looked ok. Checked the 4 or 5 fuses on all the boards....and one came back dead....the first time I checked it...but...Leave a comment:

I bought this used..out of warranty..thinking it just a cap issue. I took off back and checked all caps with my capanalyzer 88a...all look ok....swapped out one that was a maybe...but same result. I have searched the web for a few days...not even one "inverted vizio logo" ....some had a logo freeze...said eprom issue....some had inverted picture blamed tcon....but can't find a clue on this.
