    Re: PHILIPS (42PFL7623D/10) 2 BLINKING RED LED's

i had it on the wrong setting so its at 246.2 v at the mains so is that about right for UK ?

Where do i start testing from here ? a little basic guide for what components are important to test first on the board would be great , Thanks in advance

      Re: PHILIPS (42PFL7623D/10) 2 BLINKING RED LED's

OK , First sorry for all the double posts i should of taken my time and just posted once.

So, I have inspected every cap on the power supply and all of them have current running through them .

I inspected all the caps on the main board and all of them are them have current running through apart from one which shows 0 M OHMS.

I have pointed out in the included pictures which capacitor is displaying 0 value at all.

Have i possibly found a failed cap , as im very new to this and still learning .

I am aware that i need to be finding continuity through the board but i need to read up on what im testing and what the values (readings ) should be .

As advised earlier in the thread i have the .pdf of the service manual but i dont know what im looking at .Can someone point me out what i should be looking for as now i am eager to learn more

      Thanks again .

e2a: Almost Forgot if it helps , I have documented the codes/model/numbers on the sticker of the main board and the printed text on it , which is as follows :

      Printed on the board surface
      3104.303.51026
      3104.313.62146

On the sticker of the board
      EH 912.3 PL5A 5004916
      S310432857135

        Re: PHILIPS (42PFL7623D/10) 2 BLINKING RED LED's

I found the only available logic board for this tv on ebay . If i knew it was definitely this that was malfunctioning i would order it but i dont fancy spending money if it will not solve the problem . Is there any cheaper places to buy parts for this model or are they pretty much unheard of now?

        http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MB-FOR-PHI...wAAOSwu4BVpOZC

Hopefully someone can reply and advice me as to whether it would be worth a shot replacing the cap on the board first and see if that would be the fix .

As always thank you all in advance

Maybe we should start checking voltages on the power supply there are some connectors with a few wires in them they should also have marked on the board connector numbers and also what each pin does and voltage etc does your board have these printed on it? if your not sure post clear pictures of the connector and circuit board around it.

            Thank you for the reply

Unfortunately the board near the connector does not show the voltages printed on the board. I will try to get a clear picture of the connector and report back asap.

            Cheers vince

some times its printed on the underside of the board too just be carfull if you have a look as some of the larger capacitors can store a voltage even when the sets unplugged.

Thank you for the advice vince!

I have included some more pictures of the connectors and board. The first picture is one i found on google images at a better quality resolution as my camera is poor.

ive noted where the AC power connects to the PSU and where the cables leave the PSU and go to the logic board .

                Thanks again

Look at the bottom side of the board to see if there are any labels for the connectors pins as Vince suggested.

Well hopefully there will be something on the bottom side otherwise I will have to trace board using his pictures of the bottom side of the board.

I know what you mean on the not much info on the 2 blinks , Ive searched for ages but there is only a handful of threads i can find that seem to have the same problem .

I have taken a picture of the underside of the board as you mentioned but unfortunately no markings or anything .

There is a link to the service manual in page 1 which we think matches the chassis number etc i still have trouble understanding these at times though but learning slowly.

I have that .pdf already and looked through it but i dont have a clue which part is which and i cant seem to find any diagrams explaining which points should be certain volts.

Its hard to understand it to be honest.

maybe budm will have a quick look through the manual when he gets some time it is hard too undestand the manuals some are easier than other with flow charts and flashing led error codes etc

Hi again vince i have looked but no there is not any markings for voltages , I really need to find out what they should be but cant find a diagram.

Ive been testing the caps on the PSU and the results i have marked on the following picture .

Does this seem abnormal readings ?

Thanks alot in advance in the meantime im going to take the readings of the caps on the mainboard.

PS. Quick question. Am i reading the voltages correctly as i am using the black probe on the chassis and the red on the top of the cap. Is this correct way of measuring or should i be measuring between the + and - legs?

The thing is its kind of hard to get the probe under there , Thanks again

Hey Rigby. You definitely do not measure anything on "top" of the cap.

Even though we don't know the pin designations yet, it may be best to measure each pin and post the results.

Starting from the top of the 11 wire connector, measure every wire one-by-one. Hold the black probe on the chassis and push the red probe down into where the wire enters the plug. Push it in there good enough that you know you are touching the metal not too hard.

Do the same for the 8 wire connector. Then post the results like this:

                                    1 - 0v
                                    2 - 0v
                                    3 - 5.2v
                                    etc...

*Edit (here are the readings from the other badcaps post that was referenced earlier. he had same or similar tv)

                                      1 - 0v
                                      2 - 0v
                                      3 - 5.2v
                                      etc...

                                      Thanks alot Marty!

Edited to ask : To measure the caps pins would it be ok to take the psu out of the chassis and have it plugged in on its own with nothing else connected to measure the voltage ?

Should i be measuring the caps for volts or Ohms? Thanks again

So does this seem to indicate the psu is faulty as its not supplying voltages correctly to the connector that goes to the logic board?

obviously i am new to this but it seems to me some components have shorted/failed in the circuit from AC power in to the output socket that goes to the main board.

Im thinking of replacing the psu completely if this seems to be the board that has failed .

                                        Cheers

I download that service manual (Q529.1E), it does not match what you have at all.

                                            Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

I can't get the laptop to start. When pressing on, the laptop stays with the LEDs blinking 1 white and 3 yellow.
According to google this is due to the RTC battery. It was on 2.9 VCD and I have changed it for a new one, but it remains the same.
I have removed the M.2 NVME disk, I have also changed from slot 1 to 2, the only 8 GB slot RAM module, but I can't get out of this point.

                                            The motherboard is an LA-G717P

                                            What else could it be?

Thanks for the help and Happy New Year.

This is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted repair of a modern flat-screen LCD-TV (though I have repaired a few LCD-monitors, all with Elco-problems (high ESR). I have repaired my fair share of TV-sets and VCRs in the past ('90s) and was fairly familiar with the different Philips chassis (KT-3M, K12, K2, K3, K7 are some that come to mind). So I have a fair bit of experience on old sets. Obviously, modern TV sets are quite a different cup of tea.... no HOT or flyback-transformer inside, for starters....

The set came into my possession by accident,...
