Got this Linsar 22" Led SMART Tv here rebadged Vestel junk, shorted SB5100 output diode on the Psu. Simple repair however upon opening the service menu to find this only has 543 hours (33,000 minuets) on it lol wtf thats bad this thing cost £130 new as well to only last that long what a joke !

I had a low hours Vestel-Turd a while back. It had PFC issues and about 400 hours, Cant remember what name on the front, but had a 17PW26 type PSU...
What can we expect?--it IS Vestel, after all--Utter Junk!!

If you scope the anode of the diode you will see it is blocking reverse pules of some 90v , the SB5100 only has a peak inverse voltage of 100v , another cause of failure could bad bad design , you should not put diodes in parallel unless you add current sharing resistors to each one , no two diodes will have identical characteristics so putting two or as vestel do 3 in parallel, one always will pass more current than the other 2 .Comment

Definitely. Could not agree more. Actually when I scoped the 17PW25-4 I was seeing pulses of 280V, for diodes rated at 100V. Terribly sloppy design, no idea how that ever passed any kind of internal testing--I get the impression Vestel don't do any!Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. As a service workshop, I bless Vestel for making these wonderful power supplies with three schottkys SB5B0 or SB5100 that one (and only one) of them shorts. It’s a fast, easy and reliable repair, and it’s not MY fault.Comment

Hi Everyone,
After couple of hours playing a game i get blackscreen , i can still hear the sounds and i can move the character but the image doesnt come back until i reset the computer. I have tried running Furmark 1080p settings fullscreen for 7 hours and didnt encounter the same problem. It used to give me an error as driver not responding so i have installed only the driver itself and not the radeon software since than that message doesnt come up anymorre but i still have the same issue. Sometimes it happens after 30 mins gaming time , sometimes after 3 hours , sometimes even after... -

Have this TV; searched for the model and could not anything so thought I would share in here
Had an issue, some years ago, and looks like some placed sticky tape over some of the lines on the FFC cables between the T con and the mainboard
Anyway, the owner, who gave me the TV, says it starts to blink after a few hours
So I removed the covers, and could not see anything visibly
Removed the power supply and thought some of the solder joints, on the hot side, were not the best. I thought some looked like they were cracked.

In my experience, I've seen failed Taiwan/Chinese caps, obviously as I'm sure all of us had. I've also seen the defective Nichicon and Chemi Con series. Even seen failed Rubycons (MBZ I think?) if they are exposed to a lot of stress and heat. I've never seen failed Panasonics until now! Not just one, but 3! Also in seemingly random locations on the motherboard. Next to the RAM and CPU, but not t part of the VRM. It felt like I spotted a Unicorn, so I had to make this post. Motherboard is a IPIBL-LA. OEM from HP.

This machine came in with a no power complaint after a liquid spill. The only damage I found was on the two USB-C boards, so I replaced those, and the machine charges and fires up. However, if the internal LCD is connected to the logic board, when it boots, I will get a critical update failed warning and the only options are to shut down or try again - it's a loop. I am able to start up fine in safe boot. If I disconnect the internal LCD, I am able to boot normally to the OS. The customer doesn't want to invest any more money beyond what I already charged.
