Because a year ago i stumbled upon it here but didnt need that info then.
What i need to do is fool a flatscreen into thinking its receiving an input so that
The auto turn off is disabled.
I make tables out of flatscreens with the lcd screen removed.
I want the tv to stay on and illuminated.
I read here once that somehow connecting 2 of the various inputs together would acomplish this, but i cannot remember how or find that thread.. Grr
Obviously as there is no lcd screen i cannot access any menus on the tv.
I hope i made this clear (as its an odd concept/question) let me know if you require any more info.
Currently the tv shuts down after about 10 mins of no signal

on the invertor or psu/invertor board is a signal pin that turns the backlight on, you just need to link that to one of the power pins - usually 3.3v or 5v

if you want a better answer you need to post pcb foto's or atleast the make & model of tv you started with.

You can buy univeral CCFL inverters from eBay or other online stores, to go around all the electronics in the monitor.

The one in the eBay link above is what I actually have in front of me, 3 of them.

It has a very simple pinout...
pins 1 and 2 are voltage which can be anything between 10v and 30v but anything higher than 20v is not needed, ideally one would use 12-15v
pin 3 is on/off as in if you send anything between 2v and 5v on this pin, it turns on
pin 4 is adjust brightness as in put a potentiometer between ground and 5v and the wiper on that pin and you'll have a way to adjust brightness. connect to 5v directly for max brightness
pin 5 and 6 are ground

The IC used is DF6109a and the datasheet is available on the net (though in chinese) : https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...36aad6f023.pdf

So you basically need some voltage, let's say 12v, and 5v which you can get from 12v using a 7805 linear regulator or a separate 5v power supply.
If you want to make a desk using several lcd panels, you could repurpose an old computer power supply which would give you both 12v and 5v, or reuse a 12v laptop power adapter.

For LED backlight based panels, I guess you would have figure out which wire is the "enable" or "on/off" wire, you would see 0v when the backlight is off and something like 3.3v or 5v all the time when the backlight is on. With a multimeter, it only takes a few seconds.
You can then remove the control from the display board by cutting that wire and connecting the wire directly to 5v or 3.3v or whatever voltage it used to be on that input pin/wire.

The tv is a working tv, it just does not have the lcd screen, i use stained glass on top of the white plastic "diffuser/screen" which illuminates nicely as a table top when turned on.
The only issue is that the tv (like all tvs) turns off after 10 mins or so without any input.
A poster on this forum a while back needed to do something similar (he was a lot more knowledgable than i) and the thread involved suggested connecting something like the rf input to an rca style video in input or output. i don't remember which input to output connection was suggested, there also may have been a resistor or diode involved inline.
Im not an engineer, but im smart and can follow instructions.
Does this sound doable or just a myth?
It involved just hacking an rca cable and rf cable together, no need to go inside the tv at all and would work with any tv

you dont need the tv board inside,
just the power supply and the lamp driver - if it's not built into the power supply.

Other than losing a some weight there is no need to remove anything inside.
I make these tables by repurposing working flatscreen tvs with broken screens.
As i keep all the internals it is still possible to use the remote control for power and can still hook up an mp3 player and use the tvs amp and speakers and remote for volume.
So a way to trick tv into thinking it has video input would resolve having to turn it back on every 10 mins

you can probably just switch the input on the tv to ANT / OTA and it will be basically on with "weak signal" message if you had a "panel".... I don't think the tv would be able to tell that there is no signal. At worse, just add a "strand" on coax for an "antenna".
