No, I can see only less than half picture, but that check has been done with one of two tcon ribbon cable unplugged. If I put both the tcon ribbon cable the tv doesen't light on. The photo uploaded has been taken with the right tcon ribbon cable unplugged.

its has good probability that someone washed the screen and let liquid get down into the front panel. Check the edge boards on the bottom of the panel for water marks / contamination.

Hi all.....I know this is old thread, but I have replaced T-Con board, and disconnected one ribbon to panel, and get one half picture. From what I read its a bad panel. Does panel mean the circuit board that the ribbon from T-Con board attaches? I guess that board attaches to panel by lamination? So the entire panel has to be replaced. Is there anything else I can do before giving up on set? Thanks AL

"Does panel mean the circuit board that the ribbon from T-Con board attaches?" Yes, there should be some SMD caps on that long board that you can test for short or has leakage resistance, so use your Ohm meter and test the resistance of the caps.

Thanks for reply.....The problem is the board can not be removed, the ribbons (3) seem to be laminated on. But can I assume the caps (micro small) are labeled 'C' on circuit board? Thanks AL

You do not have to remove the board, you have to remove the frame of the LCD panel assembly to get to the board so you can test the caps.
              C = capacitor.

I checked all the caps with meter, and I am getting cap action ...none shorted. Is there a voltage check I can do on caps? Would that pin point problem? Thanks AL

I should mention... with both ribbons connected there is a horizontal line about 2 inches wide across bottom of screen. I could barely see menu when pressed, but it is there very blurry. If this makes difference? AL

Can we see the screen shot of what you are seeing on the screen?
Is/are the long board at the bottom edge of the LCD panel or on the top edge of the LCD panel?

Hi I have a similar problem with a un65h6203b it has a white spot 3-4in wide top to bottom. Does that mean the screen is bad? The ribbon that feeds that area of the screen is very hot.

                                Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                Assuming...

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....
