    Nah--Aint got the time for that!

    I just use a 60W at 450! Done in a couple of seconds then....

      I have a decent station now so yeah can do the same, Tend to use the IR to remove IGBT's etc as its nice and quick

        For more intensive stuff--A hot-table is nice to have around.

        If I'm in a hurry pulling IGBTS, I flood the three pins with fresh solder then pull 'em while all three are heated. Cleaning up after is easier with the amount of leaded solder present then--Quick suck and its all ready (Oh-Err Missus!)....

          I have a 100w solder gun here as well as a cheap one but no solder wick I had to google what solder wick was lol wish I had something to practice on here and I may of had a go at it

          can you not just try and seal the cracks of the solder as I can see them plain as day

              thanks newtothis I'm temped to try and seal the cracks as this guy wants £30 just to solder them for me... shame I've got this far on my own lol

                £30 is much cheaper than two new boards at £300 so I'd say you wouldn't do too badly taking his offer.

                  yeah I think so Tom66 I have found some old hard drives I have been playing with will keep an eye out for some old broken boards to play bout with I think... I just need to practice

                      local guy but had chat with my mate up the road and he said he will do it for me for cake. so off to his shop late morning with cake lol :P
