Did all the other voltages (EG 24v 12v etc) come up when you jumped the PSU on?

Power button won't do anything as the main is disconnected

The new main board fixed the problem. I very closely inspected the main board for a short or bad solder joint to see if I could repair it. I found nothing and I hate to throw it away, but that's what I did. It's fixed and working again now. Thanks for all the help everyone.

newtothis - I have always been getting power out but something was causing the power to reboot after 10-12 seconds. Once the main board was disconnected the cycling stopped. So there must be something on the main that is causing the restart.

simcole - Good to hear your replacement board worked. Since my board is identical to your old one and mine needs to be replace can I ask where you got it and what is the part # you bought. When I looked up my board none were available.

Had you researched the main board repair, C102 and C131 would normally be the problem. They are found on "A" line mains like your LN32"A" Model.
            I use 47@10v tantalum capacitors. I fixed a 40",46" and 52" recently, all
            A line Models.

You can try paralleling the cap for testing.

Terryfictv - I could not find C102 or C131 on the main board. I do not have a schematic for the BN97-00963A and all of the components seem to be in the 1000s or more. Can you give me a little more direction.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....
