I obtained a 52" Samsung LN52A550 which did not initially turn on. The culprit being the power supply caps (blue sam-wha XC series 1000uF 10V), which I fixed.
Everything was looking good for awhile. After some cleaning and putting it back together, I connected a HDMI source finally to see some images. After a few moments, right down the middle (left half of the screen) a 5" vertical bar of very colorful lines appeared.
The vertical sets of lines appear in front of anything that is on the screen e.g. menu is behind the lines.
I noticed when I shut the TV off; the screen goes black except for the vertical lines. They stay on for a moment before they go off too.
I reseated all the ribbon cables between the panel and TCON, and the TCON and main motherboard, which did not help.
I'm suspecting panel tab bonding. I touched/pressed all tab bonds and none of them appeared to have any affect.
So I'm looking for some suggestions before I call it quits.
Thanks.
