At least check and see if the main board is supplying the Voltage to run the T-CON.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 47tl5154 no image just backlight
If you didn't see any LVDS signal on scope, open the LED screen penal....... U will find water stain (on one or two green boards with tab connect to LCD screen) clean with tooth brush and acetone .One of my friend DID change resistor and fuse and fix the TV.
Most-likely you have is Toshiba 47TL515U LED TV and you definitely need is the Main Board 75023298. ......
Pls give us a feedback, if you fix the TV......Good luck......Last edited by Peter Chiu; 04-07-2015, 11:32 AM.Comment

My Mexican friend (Jose Perez) teach me, put LVDS cable on the tongue and you can feel the signal....... But don't try at home ........
Next project 1: I will make LVDS tester in the future.
Next project 2: LVDS to VGA converter ,LVDS signal on your computer monitor.Last edited by Peter Chiu; 04-07-2015, 12:04 PM.Comment

I am guessing that's how your friend checks the main filter cap on the power supply to see if the PFC is working or not...Comment

Re: Toshiba 47tl5154 no image just backlight
He must have very sensitive tongue to detect 350mV! or just B.S.
From SONY T-CON info:
The LVDS transmitter contains a circuit to serialize the parallel data. The parallel video information along with
sync and clocking data are transmitted via twisted line pairs. Depending on the logic level, current is sent along
one or the other of the twisted pair of wires. The receiving end of the wires is loaded with a resistor (usually
around 100 to 120 ohms). The receiver detects the polarity of the voltage drop across the resistor to determine
the logic level. The current level swings in the wire are about 3ma with a voltage differential of around 350mv.
This allows for transmission of the video signal with minimal EMI.

by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -

by RoccoladeHi! I'm a bit new to this whole repair world. But this is what i'm working on:
A Macbook Pro A1990 (820-01814) from 2018. It has no image – or backlight for that matter.
No history of liquid spills or anything. It's fully functional on external monitor - and the webcam works.. But it doesn't seem like the internal display is even detected.
Sometimes the backlight lights up, when booting into recovery mode. (No image still)
That's the only progress I've gotten.
I tested the panel on another Macbook, and the display worked perfectly.... -

Have backlight and sound. no LCD image.
- main board has integrated T-Con
- main board T-Con has LCD DCDC/PMIC RT6950GQW QFN68 package. Richtek chip. Can't find datasheet. Chip generates VADD (10.44V), VGH (~28V), VGL (~-14.5V)
- RT6950 pin 18-19 (clockwise) appeared to be bridged. Unlikely from my probing, looks like ball squeezage so it probably got hot
- Cleaned up bridging. Pin 17 is VGL (-14V) Pin 20 is VGH (28V). Pin 18 (I think 19 too) jumps between VGL and VGH voltage

Hi Everyone! My very first question and ask for help! Thanks in advance!!!
I was testing the new screen on this MBP but the time I was maging to turno the mac over, the EDP cable got loose.
I disconnected the power, reconnect de EDP cable, holding with screws the screen this time.
Turns on fine, everything works fine, but no image (I used the flashlight) and no backlight at all.
Done SMC and PRAM reset. Nothing changes.
Tested other functional aftermarket and original screens. Nothing changes.
