New to forum, Vizio 321vl giving me problems!

    Would like to introduce myself.
My name is Steven from Dayton, Ohio.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and hopefully learn something!
I'm also on a few other forums, bimmerfest and zx6r.com
here is my issue with my current t.v.
hoping someone out there has maybe resolved the same problem and can point me in the correct direction.
-tv turns on fine, vizio logo shows up on screen then goes black.
    - stays on with no video but does have sound.
-can scroll through channels and here the different sounds.
-stays on and turns of with no problem.
I just purchased a fluke 115 multimeter do help with this project. But I'm not entirely sure how to check the boards and where to start.
I will attach some pictures of everything.
any advice I would greatly appreciate it!!

Have you tried shining a flash light into the screen to see if you can see an image? Could be the backlight turns on long enough to see the vizio logo and then turns off.

Ok, just tried it. yes you can slightly see the image.
What you thinking I should do next?!
It's really odd I get full light with vizio logo on screen then goes off or kind of now that I can see it with the flashlight

These sets are known to corrupt the eeprom chip on mainboard. Do a search for vizio eeprom there are many posts about it.

Is there a way to test this eeprom chip ?
Are what I described, the symptoms caused by these being bad?
          thanks for your help!

No way I know of to test the chip itself...... But I just reread your post about seeing an image.

            What P/N is your PSU?

You can try while set is powered on to jumper from 5.2VSB to BL-on or Lamp pin on PSU to see if backlight will come on and stay on.

I still think the eeprom can cause the main not to send the backlight on signal to the PSU.

Shopjimmy sells EEPROM so as others have indicated, it can be EEPROM problem.

BTW, there are labels for each pin of the white connector that goes to the main board, you can report DCV of each one of those pins with the name for each pin to see which signals are missing.
