LG 42LK450 No sound, Horizontal lines

    Hi,

I have a LG 42LK450-UB with stationary horizontal lines across the screen. They are mostly green and purple with a large tan band across part of the screen. photo one. sorry forgot to rotate them. Also getting a whine/buzz on t-con board. I think its coming from the components marked 220 y2 in photo 2. The tv immediately goes to the lines. I get no menu or logo or any sort of source video. The back lights are on and if I remove one of the panel to T-con cables that side turns white. Voltages off the power supply are good, and the A-dim and p-dim are 3.1 with tv on. I'm thinking main board because of the no sound/no picture, but would like to verify that before buying a new one.

    Thanks

that tcon sounds pretty iffy, I think I would replace that first, I can't recall hearing any noise from my tcons.

Checked the voltage at the fuse on the tcon (both sides) also test vgl and vgh.
I dont know what is "good" but someone will.

Voltage at fuse F1 on the t-con is 12 on both ends.
        VGL 5.2
        vgh 28.1
        VIN 12
        VCC 3.3

I also dug up a bad t-con and a working but with bad ldvs socket t-con for this tv. Both give me the same display and same buzzing from the two components on it.
        Any other suggestions?

not sure, but makes me think maybe some signal going to the tcon is making it buzz?

would be nice if you had a spare mainboard to test with.

Buzzing sound from the inductors for the switching power supply on the T-CON usually indicates too much current being drawn by the LCD panel.

The back lights work. They come on when the tv is powered on.

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                    • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                    • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                    by kca
                    Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
                    by Ihandyrepair
                    Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
