A check on the diode (D304) in diode-mode gives me a tone and a .00 on the reading..

I assume that means a direct short??

      Let me re-check that...

Interesting idea.. Lemme assemble the parts..

I would assume it won't light the bulbs, as I get no reading on VS....

But ya know what happens when ya make an assumption..

Ya make an ass out of 'U' and 'umption'

EDIT: I hope you know I was trying to be funny and wasn't calling you an ass..

AC-DETECT test shows 4.46v at plugin and holds steady...

Check the VA and VS points with the NEG clipped to the screw that was screwed into the base...

            VS showed .036v

            VA showed .001v

I mean voltages on the other pins on that connector - also shown in TW2005 s diagram.

Yes sad isnt it It is never going to light a bulb - we are going to need a schematic ( I half looked the other day then gave up) or a picture of the back of the board - will need to be the best picture you have posted. If you cant get it really clear so we can see the traces dont bother posting it.

K Lemme get on that right now.. Do you need the whole board or a specific section??

I'll also check the other pins of the AC-DETECT connector..

That might be ok depending on what your meter does. Not sure you get a buzz
on diode mode - did you press twice?
A Buzz suggests something there and meter may report overscale as .00

If you can get it into ohms try that .test one way should be over scale and when you reverse the probes a reading more than 30 ohms

Whole board would be good - four quarters might do. Need to follow where the traces go from the
vs/va sockets - not that I am very good at following circuit traces.

All the voltages check out on the AC-DETECT.. 17v, 5v all present in their appropriate pins..

Doesnt look good -but need to lift one leg to test again as it may be in parallel
                              to some high resistance.

Did you get your market cameras fitted - dont know when you have had time!

To help a little along here. SJ makes a power supply repair kit for 25$. Look at at the stuff they change out and check yours. http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-eay60968...repair-kit.htm
Hopefully you not end up like

OK, I'll de-solder the piece and see what readings I get..

Yea, we have to put in a few outdoor and wifi cams, so I got about half of them done. It's pretty straight foward work. I was US Army MI during Desert Storm and specialized in Surveillance/Counter-Surveillance..

I can do it in my sleep. And often do!!

We have done that using another kit???

Michale cant make much of the traces but it does confirm there is nothing else
on the VS VA sockets .
Can you look on the back of the board - this section. Maybe the flash but
one side of that transformer doesnt look good?
