The relay double-clicks when I plug it in... But nothing appears to happen visually or audibly when I push the power "button"..

i wonder if this kit will sort it?
kit contained 1 fuse (F302), 1 diode (D304) , two power resistors (R927, R929) and the IC301 voltage regulator IC.(found on another post)

If the pins are visible/ touchable from the top of the board set your meter on 600vdc and
test the outer two pins. VERY carefully!!
THEN metre on 600vAC test middle two pins. should be same as mains voltage.

OK I am going to attempt this....

The outer pins for DC, the inner pins for AC..

What should I see??

Well I dont think its possible to have voltage at the BIG cap if there is no ac at the bridge.

Should have said it is sometimes usual when it is just plugged in for the caps to read
mains voltage x1.41 vdc approx then when you switch on it should rise to near 400vdc

All 3 big caps show 397v +/- 1 or 2 when the unit is plugged in..

Is that a good indication that it is turning on at plug-in??

It looks that way and the PFC must be working.
Did you test all the pins on the top two connectors with the VA & VS did you use the
panel ground tabs for the black lead - try again with a screw in.

Next locate where the parts are in Vinces repair pack - you have tested the two white
resistors are those the two resistors in the pack you also tested the fuse the fuse -
so can you find and test the diode.
Can you read the part number on the IC301

What if I were to pull the connector from the mainboard and short the ON pin to ground to see if the unit is actually being turned on??

I actually re-tested the VS, just for sheets and greens. I hooked the red lead to the VS and the black lead to the GND on the connector.. Still dead...

Unfortunaltey, I don't have the equipment to check diodes.. YET

Diodes can be checked with your normal multi meter with the set unplugged when toms online maybe he will have some ideas what too check ive only ever worked on one panasonic plasma that was a easy fix.
