Samsung TV keeps restarting by itself

I have a Samsung UN40D5005BF LED TV. When a power cable is connected, the TV blinks red light and starting sound comes out ( I did not push power button ). Then it repeats this by itself. The red light goes out and comes back with blinking and the starting sounds come out again.

I have checked the capacitors and they look all very clean and flat. I checked the rectifier and it converts AC to DC well. I'm not sure whether this is a main board issue or power supply issue. Is there a place that I need to check more ?

Please upload the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together.

Unplug the connector to the button board and see if it stops the cycle. The buttons can fail or get sticky.

Edit .. the red led wont light though because it's on that board.

Is the panel fully lit or does it look like a 1/4 of the screen unlit? If it has a 4 channel backlight anything like the 55D6000 then if a LED burns out, that channel goes open and the TV just endless reboots, briefly lighting the screen with the SMART logo .

not saying 100% that is the issue but worth lookig at also.

Disconnected power switch but it still tries to start. There is no red light but I could hear starting sound. I don't know what makes this start. If I'm sure that this is a main board issue, I will buy the cheap part. That's pretty good price.

The panel is completely dark. No light at all.

              Thanks for all suggestions !

I guess I have the same issue that this guy has. It was a main board issue.

Probably I should buy the one that saddle_au recommended. I will try it out. Thanks !

Main board issue = usually the main BGA processor needs reflow or reballing. But a proper reballing would cost upwards of $60 so in this case replacing the mainboard is the cheaper option.

I disconnected the tcon board and TV still automatically keeps starting over and over again. I can tell because a starting sound comes out but there is off sound so I assume that it crashes and restarts. Hope this is a main board issue. I already ordered the part so we will see in a week.

omg, can I cook the main board in oven ? If my new main board comes, I will try this out with old one.

This test can't be definitive without knowing the nature of this power supply but it looks similar to other basic Samsungs in which this test would apply. Disconnect the cable between the main board and the power supply and then plug it in. Does the backlight come on ?

Super late but I just got this exact same model and can confirm the backlight will turn on no problem if you have a bad main. That's what happened on mine. Unfortunately it seems like I also have either a bad panel or t-con in addition to the bad main because I just replaced my main and now I get the tv to turn on stay on with backlight but no picture.
I do get voltages going from the t-con to the panel and the panel boards has certain ceramic caps showing 3.27v and 15v and other such voltages but all the ic's on the tabs stay cold. Normally they heat up a good amount so I just don't know what is going on.

Hello, I have the same problem. I've change the PSU, Mainboard, no help. And I unplug everything, and plug them back again, it work for a hour or something, I can watch TV without any problem. But soon, it turns off and can never boot up again. It just show the logo screen and then a click sound again and again.

                                Is that the panel problem?
