The Big Man knows who those folks are and has special places for them in the end.

      Re: Bad Manners:No follow up

I used to feel bad when I worked in IT because I had gotten to a level where I could consistently figure out complicated issues on my own. Issues that many others were having given all the forum posts etc I ran across. It was so fast paced that I felt like I never had the time to go back and post my fix for others to find. When judgment day comes, my soul will be banished to the depths of hell.

I always like to give a full detail of the symptoms and the repair. When its not reported its just plain rude. To me I think that people that don't give thanks or the solve or find in the issue are the ones who don't get very far in life always looking for the easy way.
I mean hell I even tell people when I have to take a Dremel and grind into a panel to solve the problem even though I end up sounding retarded believe me I would try to help in any way possible.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

I would like to see a repost on this issue every so often because many times I look up and follow a thread and ended up on a dead end .

                Re: Bad Manners:No follow up

remember new posters, without follow up, a lot less things get fixed, and the least you can do is post pictures good clear pictures.

read the stickies aka the first posts in the list, and POST SOME GOOD CLEAR PICS.

Emphasis on CLEAR! If it's blurry to you, it is to us too.

if you wonder why you got no reply its probably because you didnt take a few minutes to read the stickies at the top of the list, which people took a lot of time and effort to post, and dont forget FIRST RULE POST GOOD CLEAR PICS. AND TRY TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.

                        Re: Bad Manners:No follow up

I understand not posting pics atleast not as the first thing, even in 2015 not everyone has a good camera. Especially in this time of the year, there is very limited daylight.
Also I believe in many cases when there is no follow-up the poster didn't end up repairing the TV or taken a break from repairing / troubleshooting it.
Personally I have about 10-15 TV's waiting for repair (all my own, I don't do customer repairs), and I pick one when I'm bored and have nothing else to do. It is just a hobby at the moment. If I can't find the problem I usually set it aside for a while and continue at a later time, and that has often helped.
But yeah, not posting a follow up after the repair is not nice. It is easy to forget too. Many people have done mistakes (no follow up, no pics, etc), and many people will make mistakes in future. Sadly it is human nature. No offence, but even you have done it:

                          Re: Bad Manners:No follow up

It would be a thoughtful gesture to indicate when taking a break from or abandoning a project so that those following and trying to help you think about it would know to move on and not bother about it.
