All these Great people, taking time to help folks fix their products, and so many, just never reply back, that they either fixed it or trashed it, is just BAD MANNERS, and frankly it p!sses me off.

I expect little back, that way I'm never disappointed. This may be an off topic / lounge subject but I know what you mean. without closure you don't know if the advice was valid or not.
read plenty of threads thinking it's going to have a solution that helps only to hit a dead end. -
Re: Bad Manners:No follow up
I have learned alot from this Forum. I try to help anyone that needs help. It's good to know if it fixed it. On sets that I can't fix and give up on I try to post it as so. I have some sets that are given because customer decided to buy a new set. There are a lot of smart experienced people here and I am very happy for anyone that has tried to help. Alot of time I do a search and look before I make a new post. IF I find the answer should I post it on a older post? Thanks GuysComment

Re: Bad Manners:No follow up
Yes feel free to post solutions in older threads as they are already indexed by Google and they will appear first when somebody is searching for that particular issue.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

was wrong with that tv, it's like every time alex trebeck asks the final jeopardy question, the show just ends there, with no answer

Re: Bad Manners:No follow up
Worst is, 2 years ago someone posted "I solved the issue", but they never said how, and that's the only post you can find. I'm pretty sure there's a special place in hell for people who do that. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Bad Manners:No follow up
Is that even worth going back, finding the thread, only to put in "I fixed it?" At least with a link like this I get a good laugh.

Re: Bad Manners:No follow up
I agree. When I get a new project, my first stop is often here to see if anyone has already solved a particular issue. I can't tell you how many times I've read 5 or 10 pages to get nothing. And many of the regulars here spend a lot of time tracing out circuits, and expect nothing more than a thank you at the end. Almost everything I know about TVs and electronics is thanks to this forum. And I am grateful. Another thing I like to do is just post data that, had it been available, would have made it easier for me to fix a problem.------------signature starts here------------

For some reason that is stuck in my mind too... can't remember what I was looking for, but someone had said he fixed it, but didn't say how he did it.

by DAVEMAC02Follow up to my op amp diagram of Q208 FET and IC204 for NJM 2068M op amp. I took took the following DCV readings on the Q208 (2SK246) and IC204 pins:
pin 1 0v, pin 2, 0v, pin 3 0v, pin 4 -15.6v, pin 5 0v, pin 6 .08, pin 7 0v, pin 8 +15.9v
Q208 source -.006, gate -15.5v, drain -.102. These readings are from the op amp Q208 that has no output on pin 1. I don't know what state ie (On or Off ) Q208 should be when op amp is working correctly. This circuit is on the filter/limiter stage of the PA system. Any help is appreciated. Thanks-

by leggLG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.
Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V
Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between
drive signal pattern periods. A replacement drive signal board confirms this....11-18-2021, 11:49 AM -
by quicknameI'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.
Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.
I decided to verify that the batteries were... -
by TrumanHWThe EBC-820 relies on the J6100 interface (its unclear if it works on 2018+ either, which'd negate any real value).
IF it does 'debug' issues on newer units, the video shows it providing error codes and 'breadcrumbs' to follow & fix identified issue(s).
Is this a gimmick for suckers (like me)..? Are there better products that are also affordable...?
Lastly, does anyone have suggestions on how to learn how to follow the schematic // boardview to trace problems..? Because even when watching the video it was unclear how certain selections... -
by HondamanCan I use an external keyboard with a modern (as of this post) laptop from, say, Dell?
I am worried about durability because I am a cheap, frugal person. I suspect an external keyboard would extend the life of the laptop. I have always been a desktop person, since my AMD 386DX-40, and I really don't know about laptops (though the current Dell products look like they are fanless, which eliminates a big failure point).
(Also I prefer the "clicking" "Unicomp" keyboard, which is still made an hour or two away from me in Lexington KY, using the same equipment...-
