What do you all think about this TV ? I thought about buying a new one as my LG has a red line in it. So the lcd is going ..

I know i love the LG 47 inch and the colors. I do not know much about the VIZIO brand at all.

    VIZIO - 50" Class - 599

Panels usually made by LG, main boards are big issues. You can get better from Panasonic or LG or *some* Sharp sets (avoid rebadged ones)

Just took apart LG 42LV4400, the main board is made by AMTRAN which is the same maker for VIZIO.
You just cannot tell what you get these days.

One reason I liked plasmas, you could pretty much guarantee LG/Samsung/Panasonic/etc all had their own panels and you weren't buying any overpriced rebadged junk.

Panasonic and Samsung are probably the last few companies left making their own stuff? Most of Sony's product line is made by Sony except for the smaller sets. And Samsung panels are... well... So Panasonic is the last company left that I can recommend.

I know, what's up with this low quality crap!

I have recently taken apart four 32 inch LED/LCD flat panels all from 2012-2014 and and a lack of quality is astounding and what is up with mounting the boards on the back of the damn rear cover so annoying, both Westinghouse and Polaroid seem to have switched to this board mounting method.

At least the Polaroid had ground wires going from the boards to the back of the panel the Westinghouse only had clips and very weak ones at that that would lose connection overtime if it was wall-mounted from pulling and pushing it back in poor poor design but I fixed it with one I had added ground wires that works great no issues.

The Toshiba LED I picked up a few weeks ago was the same thing.
