Re: Vizio JV50p - Turns on then clicks off - No audio or picture
You were right MAGIC..
Not sure why that pin is getting so hot but it melted the new solder and then the pin (lead) pushed itself out of the capacitor.
I am having trouble finding the replacement on the net. Is one brand better than another or should I look for OEM replacement and use PILKON?
Attached top view of the burn and the bottom.
Steps for repair?
1.) Remove bad capacitor - Find replacement (where to purchase?)
2.) Clean board in damaged area with alcohol swabs
3.) Solder new capacitor in place - (Is there a certain grade solder to use that can withstand this residual heat?)
