      Re: Samsung UN40D6400UFXZA Power Cycles

Dose days are gone, when capacitors were the fault.
      I'm thinking mainboard.
If do you disconnect the wire harness between power supply and mainboard, the TV turns on and has backlight?

Inspect the power supply board real well, especially the solder joints of the transformer legs and the legs of the MOSFETs and Diodes mounted on the heatsinks.
Also list the DC Voltage readings of each pin with its name of the connector CNM802, there is a chart that lists the pin out of the connector, check them when TV is plugged in but power switch is not activated, and when the power switch is activated.

Do you see a pin marked "BL ON" or "ON/OFF"? Check that too.

Looks the same fault as a 55D7000, defective LED strips. Could be mainboard but I know with mine i proved open cct section of strip. Mine had a 4 channel LED cct, none blown but suspect joints. Disconnecting the backlight leads on mine created the same relay cycling. managed to bypass the LEds broken and it ran for 6 hours then I think they were burnt out.

Just for info, I have lttle experience with LCD.

OK, pin 20 PS (PS_ON, 4.11VDC), is it steady or it is fluctuating in sync with the power cycling?
Do you also hear the power relay RL801S clicking in sync with power cycling?
This TV has 4-channel LED driver circuits.
Did you check the solder joints on the bottom side of the board? see the red circles in the picture.
I also marked the bottom side of the board to show the function of each section of the board based from what I can see from the picture provided by shopjimmy.

That is the small inductor with a hole on the shrink tubing, it does not look burnt out.

OK, now it makes more sense now, the standby power supply is not stable, it can be due to bad caps on the power supply board or the main board is drawing too much current.
You can run the power supply board by itself and use the 10 Ohms 5W resistor to simulate current draw of 0.5A on the V5B output, it should be able to maintain 5V output with 10 Ohms load.

Samsung UN55FH6030, perfect size for my office and does OTA well but isn't a smart TV. That's OK because I am a TV station engineer and only need it for OTA monitoring.

About a month ago it started power cycling itself once or twice a day and now it's nearly continuous once it's been on for a few minutes. Changing channels would really start it cycling and it would take several minutes to stabilize but now it's just doing it almost non-stop without changing channels.

Once I disconnected the antenna I found that I could change channels with no issues. My guess is...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hello everybody, I could use some help on this one... It's got me guessing...
I took pictures of all the boards and the pin out of the connector on the power supply that goes to the main board... I measured all the pins in relation to chassis ground, here are the result.

                                          Hello,

I have re-soldered the loose pins on the RAM slot which is a common fault on these models..

It charges and turns on the power LED but is missing several voltages like RAM and CPU do not come up which I believe is due to MAINON & SUSON being missing to turn these supplies on..

What I am un-sure of is what is the ITC chip waiting for to send out these signals, what are the requirements?
I have checked these lines in diode mode and they seam normal -> 600.

I have checked to see if they come on for even a fraction of a second...

                                          Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
                                          Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
                                          LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...
