I ordered some of ebay, 25 pcs for £2. The laptop does appear to be fully working without it though, charged the battery normally and turned on etc.....

Also what difference to the IC does the selection of the Inductor make when they are designing the circuit? It does not explain in the datasheet why you can pick different ones..

Ok I'll replace it but if any one knows why the IC needs to know and what difference it makes not knowing then I would still like to know!
Many thanks.

Thankyou but I understand this, but I want to know what it is doing since it is charging fine without it! And I can easily order the 137K that is missing, I know the original was 137K as I measured it but the end cap was corroded off on one end so I couldn't solder it back in place..

Huawei D14 - DAH98AMBAD0 Rev.D - Laptop not Charging - Missing 137K on IADPT - Inductance Selection - BQ25713 Charging IC
Hello:
On the above laptop which wasn't charging I found only a tiny drop of water damage exactly on a few components by the BQ25713 Charging chip.. Bizarre how only that one 3mm square for it but it did..
I looked up the BQ25713 datasheet and replaced the 10K pull up resistor on the CHRG_OK line and now it charges!
But on the IADPT line which seams to be a resistor (137K) to tell the chip which Inductor is in use it is corroded also.. (Inductance Detection Through IADPT Pin - from datasheet).
So my question is what are the implications of leaving...

HP 14-CE0523SA (14-CE0000 Series) - DC / Charge LED Flashing 5 Times White!
DA0G7AMB6D1 REV.D Board:
A strange fault occured while I was calibrating the battery. This battery had not been used for a while.
Previously to calibrating the DC/Charge LED operated normally:
Off when no charger,
Solid Orange while charging with Charger,
Solid White when 100% Full with charger.
I charged to 100% then left it playing a long youtube video,
as expected the guage was wrong and it just cut off before reaching the low percent where it would sleep.
It wouldn't power on so I plugged charger expecting to...

Re: Occasional POST - HP 14-CE3600SA - G7AL-2G - DAG7ALMB8C0 REV.C
Hello, I'm back on this.
I can confirm that the RAM power rail 1.2v is not present. There is no short at the coil. Tested with a meter and 1.2v from my bench power supply. It takes nothing with no ram and ~30mah with a ram stick in.
Also there is a power supply above the APU (see my picture) which I believe is the APU power rail but the nearest chip I cannot find the datasheet.
Chip markings:
5v=7J
J4Q
I believe it is a power...

Re: Dead PSU - HA33R4-058N, B1-058HA330, DC0-4905F20, 9-79-0361 (From AKAI MPC5000)
Yes that is correct. But there are 2 zeners with a paralleled resistor on each! This does not make sense to me, that is not how I have seen a zener used when being used as a voltage regulator?
And the other zener has only a 10 ohm resistor paralleled so what can that be doing, seams like nothing!
I mean obviously it does something so I would love to know!

Re: Occasional POST - HP 14-CE3600SA - G7AL-2G - DAG7ALMB8C0 REV.C
Sorry late replay. I am not sure what you mean? In the photo I uploaded I labelled the 3.3v and 5v coil/regulators. They both turn on when the laptop is turned on!
Am I missing something?
Also it does post very rarely like once a month, I don't think a regulator goes intermittent from my experience or can it?
Thats why I was focusing on the Bios/IT Chip and the CPU.
Cheers....

Re: Dead PSU - HA33R4-058N, B1-058HA330, DC0-4905F20, 9-79-0361 (From AKAI MPC5000)
I have noticed after doing the photos that D6, D5 & D3 on the internet photos I have used look like standard black diodes and are labeled D not ZD but on my PSU all of them are clear glass red ones looking like ZENERS just like ZD1, why might this be?
Cheers

Dead PSU - HA33R4-058N, B1-058HA330, DC0-4905F20, 9-79-0361 (From AKAI MPC5000)
Hello,
The PSU was totally dead, the following parts were burnt O/C or SHORTED in the primary section:
R14 -> R17 - Burnt O/C - 2.4 ohms,
R18 -> Burnt O/C - 910 ohms,
Q1 -> P7NK80ZFP - SHORTED,
U1 -> PWM Controller UC3843B - SHORTED.
I have ordered all the parts but there is also a Zener SHORTED and need help to know what to repace it with as no markings and the schematics are not available as far as I could find online.
It is ZD1. I have attached pictures showing the location and drawn out the part of the circuit...Last edited by reessi; 02-28-2023, 09:26 PM.

Re: Bios Please - HP 14-CE3600SA - G7AL-2G - DAG7ALMB8C0 REV.C
It did not work, I'm wondering now if I need to replace the super I/O chip.
Cheers anyway.
