You should be able to read what are printed on the top of the resistors which will tell you what they should be. You show D753 twice, I would removed those resistors, diodes for Q708, 709 and test them off the board. I will not be surprised that they are damaged.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio E320VL - No Power, No 5v Standby - DEAD PSU??
Sorry the Q709 diode should be D757.
All the mosfets are still in place on the board. Should I remove all 4 then recheck them and remove all the resistors and diodes?Comment

Re: Vizio E320VL - No Power, No 5v Standby - DEAD PSU??
I would remove those two MOSFETs (Q706, 707) that tested bad first, but you should also read the numbers as printed on top of the resistors to verify the resistance.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio E320VL - No Power, No 5v Standby - DEAD PSU??
1007 is more likely to be 1002?
I expect the resistor connected directly between the Gate and the Source pin to be around 10K (1002).
It is going to be hard to verify the value when they are on the board since there are other components connected in parallel with the resistor you are trying to measure.
If you remove all 4 MOSFET, then you may be able to do comparison readings.Last edited by budm; 12-17-2014, 05:45 PM.Never stop learning

I removed the 4 mosfets and did a resistance check on all the resistors and diodes still on the board and I rechecked the mosfets once I removed them and this is what I got.

Does it appear that Q706 & Q707 are bad? What would be a good replacement for these KF5N50's?Comment

Re: Vizio E320VL - No Power, No 5v Standby - DEAD PSU??
Q706, 707 are bad for sure.
The resistance will be tough since the Gate drive transformer winding is basically in parallel with the resistors, the only sure way is to remove the resistors and test them off the board, I would remove the resistors for Q706 first since we know that Q706 is damaged, if the resistors tested OK then more likely the resistors for the Q707 will be OK too.
Q708, 709 are not shorted out so the resistors and the diodes are probably OK.Never stop learning

by GLISITHi all,
TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

by x_orange90_xI have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by funkmunk3yHello!
I was given this Vizio because it would freeze up after a few minutes of operation. There were no obvious burns marks or failures. When I was checking the power supply - I slipped & shorted it (tiny crackle & spark) at one of the 12 volt pins - now the entire board is dead & has NO standby voltage @ the connector to the main board.
The fuse at the power input is reading good - the main caps are reading in the 160's & all the diodes read good except one (D9103 - pictured) - but it only reads bad in circuit - I pulled it & it tests o.k.

by Andreas_deHello!
i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.
Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?
