How do you test, a RET transistor?

Sorry about posting here, but section seems more active than others.
I have two transistors, that I have to check: RT1N241C and KRA103S.
They are complementary NPN and PNP transistors with resistors in them.
How should I measure these? What should I see on the meter when I'm measuring?
    Thank you.

In PDF the values built-in resistor, so they must be taken into account when measuring

My problem is, that in diode mode it only shows OL both ways.

Normal for an NPN. Test across B-E and B-C and you should find two diodes.
Usually NPN fails C-E short, or B-E open.

A regular diode, I know how to check, but this one has resistors in them and the meter does not show anything, just OL, both ways and the test leads switched it is the same way, just OL.

Re: How do you test, a RET transistor?

OL both way in Diode mode is not right. You can grab a transistor and resistor and make a circuit as shown in the spec sheet to see what you get with the readings.

I figured, that it doesn't sound right, that is why I'm asking.
I would not like to replace these transistors and at the end to find out, that they were good ones.
Good idea Bud. I will do that.
              Thanks.
By the way, this is for the Pioneer VSX-1122k home theater receiver. I have found these two transistors, on the IR board.

They would be an unlikely candidate for failure. Many other things would probably fail before them.

Re: How do you test, a RET transistor?

Tom you were right. I have put together a transistor and two resistors and it did not show anything. Only on the resistance scale, but not on the Diode tester.
                  Thank you.
Any help, would be appreciated with this receiver, in the audio section.

@22K ohms for the Base resistor, the meter cannot putout enough voltage to turn on the EB junction.

Most likely it need more voltage at the base and then I should measure with the voltmeter the EK side. But at this point, I assume that they are good transistors.

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?

                        Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

test active pfc power with lamp test
                        by khelane
                        Hello
I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
                        Is there a way...

Onkyo HT-R510 turns on and then immediatly off
                        by redbaron1007
I picked up an Onkyo HT-R510 that when I plug it in and press the power button will turn on and then a couple of seconds later turn itself off. When it turns on you can hear the relay click and then immediately click again and shut the power to the system off. I spent about 5 hours today trying to troubleshoot it and I did make some progress that may not actually tell me anything. It's still not really working and I'm not quite sure where to go next.

Here's everything I've done so far.

The first thing I did was open it up and check for any burn marks exploded parts...

Mats / mods: detected and repaired GPU fault. Cant seem to test after!
                        by chronic519
                        Hello.

GPU came in, green lines. Spent lots of time using to get the Mats / mods drive working (found on youtube).
Found issue with a RAM block
                        Replaced, green lines gone.
Trying to test again, assuming getting the false positive. Originally had over 1K on a single bank. Now getting tosses low between banks.
Used a good card to test and same results low errors 32+.

I am just search for some form of command to do a full test on the GPU.
I just ran the mats command with my good GPU and passed after roughly 40 min.
                        The repaired one, ran...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                        by alltvrepairs
                        Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                        Appreciate your help....
