ESR Meter Chart

Hi everyone. I am finding different charts for the ESR meters. Some allow higher resistance and others are lower. I have a tv with only have the screen and found a bunch of caps on the Y SUS board. Here are the measurements:

10uf 250V=measured 1.90 ohms
47uf 250v=measured 0.87 ohms
100uf 160v=measured between 0.79-0.87 ohms

would these be good ESR or should I replace?

you need to compare the readings to the datasheet for the make & series your testing.

The charts you find online are simply informative, with information extrapolated from a few series of capacitors that were popular probably 10 years ago.

Get datasheet for that capacitor and look up the impedance in that datasheet. If you can't find the exact manufacturer and series, look up datasheets from other brands.

Those high voltage capacitors are not designed with a particular focus on low ESR, the way they're used in circuit the ESR probably doesn't matter that much.
For such low capacitances and high voltage, values of 0.3 - 2 ohm would be normal.

The 10uF 250v may have a bit high esr but it really depends on series and dimensions of the capacitor.

Throw away the charts, look at datasheets if you're not sure.

What brand of the cap are you looking for? then go to the manufacturer web site to download the info for that particular series of the cap.
Panasonic has them, and so other major brands as well.
