hey mon2, so i returned the faulty board. all good. went to a different seller (All seems like the same company or something, the listing descriptions for the boards are all similar or the same.)
purchased a new board, arrived today.
plugged in the battery, plugged in the charger, still 5v. powers on and posts all fine an dandy with the battery plugged.
but when i try to power on with just the charger, it pulls 1 or 2 amps at 5v for a second and shuts off.
charger works fine on other laptops, its a genuine lenovo 65w usb c charger.
Am i really unlucky...

Lenovo Yoga C740-15IML 5V on usb meter.
Hello. So I searched and didn't find any posts on this specific problem.
When plugged in USB power meter reads 5v
Doesn't charge battery. I can charge the battery with power supply. So it seems the battery works fine. Laptop started but didn't post on battery.
Original mobo had a shorted cpu it seems.
So I decided I need a new motherboard.
Put the new one in the computer. Connect the battery, I think it starts, don't quite remember, but when I plug the adapter/charger.
5v on the meter. Still won't charge. Can still charge the battery... -
I requested access to the full schematic for the isl IC but they haven't gotten back.
In the mean time I had a core ultra 5 (board model: DAOPDOMRBEO REV: E) with the exact same board layout.
Had 1ohm resistors on each line (current sense lines I'm guessing as the lines came from under the current sense resistor) and a 0.1uf cap(I think it's a o.1uf, I stole a cap from a donar board with the same current sense circuit).
Working and charging great so far. Thanks for the reply.Leave a comment:

DAOPDIMB8GO Rev .G not charging, missing components identification
Missing components on the motherboard.
Anybody by chance have the same model and can let me know what they are?
Symptoms of the laptop are. Working, booting, seems fine except does not charge. Windows even says it's charging. But does not. Also charging light is on. So I'm guessing Im missing some Resistors
Can manually charge the battery.

i feel silly, I should have bought a 180w adapter from the start like i planned.
the laptop is charging fine, everything seems good. Thanks for the help everyone!...Leave a comment:

i have order a 180w. i will see if it gets detected and if anything changes.Leave a comment:

OK, So the 90w adapter is detected fine, the battery in the bios it says is working fine, but in windows the battery is at 0% and not charging.
based on the error message the battery should charge with the 90w adapter.
the 120w adapter i have is not detected. so might be faulty or not genuine....3 PhotosLeave a comment:

I have tried with a hp the customer brought it in with, then I tried an original Dell 65w, then I tried what I think is an original Dell 130w.
I would at least have though it would charge with the two dell chargers but maybe throttle the performance....Leave a comment:
