Can anyone help? I have a Samsung LE40A686M1F which has a tab fault. The panel/screen is a LTF400HC01. I got a replacement screen which is an LTF400HF01 as I thought it would be compatible. I also had to get another T-con as the HC01 has 4 tabs from panel to tcon but the HF01 only has 2. I am now getting tab fault like symptoms even though the screen had been fully tested. Has anyone had experience of this or have any suggestions?

Re: Lvds
The company I got it from salvage parts out of LCD tvs and they had left the tv to soak for 8 hours and no tab faults. The tcon in the HC01 is a FRCM_tcon_v0.1 and the HF01 tcon is 4046fa7m4c6lv0.4 I haven't checked compatability with the main board.Comment

Re: Lvds
Fact is, most of the panels you'll buy off eBay are actually bad...
Also storage can induce moisture into the panel which can lead to a tab failure.
The picture is blurry, or red tinted on only one side? This can be a bad tab bond. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lvds
I work for the company I got it from. The tv only needed a couple of caps replaced and then worked fine from cold and worked fine for 8 hours so this leads me to believe the screen/panel is good. The tcons are the only difference. There are extra connectors on the 4046fa7m4c6lv0.4 could I need an extra cable from main board to tcon for this configuration?Comment

by Daren87Hello everyone,
I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by jdawg99Hi,
Trying to fix a bush TV. The Tcon is integrated onto the main board by the looks of it but before I buy a replacement does this look like a screen fault? The lines at the bottom are concerning me. I have check for shorts on the caps etc and can't see anything obvious. Nothing is overly hot and I've tried heating different boards and pressing down on the flex but no change in picture.
Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.... -
by alltvrepairsHi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.
Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.
Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... - Loading...
