    Toshiba 26hl47 White screen

I have a 26HL47 Toshiba and it turns on and backlights come on but that's it no picture. I can press the menu or input buttons and just nothing on the screen but a white picture. I'm not even sure what to start checking so if someone could guide me I would greatly appreciate it.

Might be the Siene board, I know that on of the trouble shooting sites I read when I was working on the 37HL was a white or black screen on boot up could be a siene board issue.

How many amber blinks before it comes on?

No amber blinks. The green light comes on and stays on.

Try and get sound from a source without a picture, like a DVD player by fiddling with the input buttons.

Yes! I was able to get sound and could adjust it up and down with the buttons but nothing on the screen.

Any pin marked 12VLCD on that sub power board? Top middle.

OK, what about the POWER_LCD pin, can you check that, it's on the flexi-ribbon-metal thing.

Hard to tell what pin it's for but looks like 3.28V

When you turn the TV on and off, does this change?
If so, we will need to look at the T-con board.

                        Re: Toshiba 26hl47 White screen

try disconnecting the one metal plug that has all the blue wires and the small one that is next to it with the 4 gray wires and see if the white screen is still about the same brightness.
If it is about the same, see if you have any voltage on the gray wire plug pins on the board side (Wires look glued so you probably want to check those with the plug removed)
then check the far right group on the blue wires (probably easier to check these with that plug plugged in

Ok, just went out to check that and I accidentally left the TV on from the last thing I check and here now I have video. I'm guessing that something needed to warm up before the video came in???? Now what direction do I go?

What do you get on pin 14 of connector CN90A of the B board (the brown board)? Also monitor this test point.

well that was an easy fix !!! LOL
One of your voltages may have to had to build up ?? Hard to say which
but since it lit and was white, it probably had to do with power that leads to the buried T-con board which can't be seen and I think that the wires that I mentioned go to that board ? AGAIN "I think"
In a lot of cases, white screens means that the pixels are not getting power to activate them.
so , for reference, see if you can see what the voltages are there and then you'll have to shut it down, let it cool and see what happens when you fire it back up.

Could a ribbon cable do this? I turned it back on and it seemed the picture was frozen compared to the sound and I did a little twist on the frame and the video started to work then let of and froze again.

did you try a different input ?
Try to check that 5 volts when the picture freezes or doesn't come on
also loosen up as much of the rear assembly that holds the boards, to maybe, see if it is at the lcd panel side or in the boards.

To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                          Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...
