    T-Con Repair ?

turning back for a little info i had a samsung LE37R88BD a few years ago and it developed a dark picture and ghosting fault, changed the T-Con out and the thing worked like new again and hasnt went faulty since. I have purchased another Samsung but this time model number is LE37R87BDhs thhe same fault. it is the exact same T-Con board that is in the TV so my question is will i have to purchase a new T-Con or can an existing one be repaired ?

Can we see the pictures of the board and the screen shot to see what the pictures you describe look like?

Looks like it has a as15 chip in it. The one in the top right hand corner.

Yep looks like an AS15 failure to me, to prove it you can test the gamma voltages on the T-con.
(I thought we had a quiet week for AS15's!)

                      Re: T-Con Repair ?

On the left hand side of the T-con board you have a large block of test points marked VGAMA1 through VGAMA22.

Please take a measurement of each and post the result of each
                      e.g.

                      VGAMA1 - 0.05V
                      VGAMA2 - 0.5V

                      etc.

                      (The results will vary)

You have the red probe in COM and black in VOLT/OHM, it doesn't really matter but you should normally have the black probe in COM and red in VOLT/OHM.
(Just ignore the minus sign for the readings if you have made some already, it's not important.)

That was with black probe on the chassis, and with volt/ohm and COM the wrong way around?
If so the AS15 chip is bad... very common fault

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update

                                          Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Bush DLED32287HDCNTDFVP - Is this a screen fault or a Tcon Issue

                                          Hi,

Trying to fix a bush TV. The Tcon is integrated onto the main board by the looks of it but before I buy a replacement does this look like a screen fault? The lines at the bottom are concerning me. I have check for shorts on the caps etc and can't see anything obvious. Nothing is overly hot and I've tried heating different boards and pressing down on the flex but no change in picture.

Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance....

                                          Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...
