    Re: Panasonic TX-P42S10B

it was me being stupid i had unpluged the power from the wall so i had no power lol sounds really daft but as i was rebuilding it i left off the odd connector so unplugging and plugging back in i forgot i took it out the wall the last time

however im now back where i started with 7 blinks but a fully built sc

        Re: Panasonic TX-P42S10B

Next time I'm going to ask the silly question then. Twice i've fallen for this hence I could reach no logical explanation, I have to assume the obvious has been checked.

Do the Sc50 jumper and Sd/SU isolation from the Sc and see if this sc is bad. you disconnect the 3 connectors to the buffers, remove 4 gnd screws that attache the SD/SU to the SC.

powerup, if it's still 7 you received a dud Sc.

Everything was connected this time at the SC for the current 7 blink?

A bit hard to say how reliable Mr EMOS is but I've had DOA "tested Boards" from him and then someone took a punt of his boards when i found then for a 50G10 and they were perfect?

          Who knows?

I have to leave it here, all I can suggest is maybe work through the training guide and recheck the resistance on your boards and compare the same checkpoints on his and make a note. Or maybe contact him for help and tell him the SC has passed on it's own but 7 blink with his buffers.

                      Re: Panasonic TX-P42S10B

                      hi all

Ok measured resistance this was before i tried it and again now removed

                      DMM set to 20M

                      PIN 2 SU 41 i get 1.37 ohms

                      Pin 9 SD 42 i get 1.39 ohms

so with that alone it says bad buffers correct ?

The seller has asked me if i checked the buffer for shorts before i fitted but as i said i only checked the above

He wants to know if the boards now match shorts as it might indicate a screen problem

Can any one point out any other checks i can do ?

In diode mode does this meter beep continuous if the probes are shorted?

try diode at the same point and in both polarities.

Have you tried checking from the VFG to the output nodes? IMHO that is the best way of finding a shorted buffer. I had an LG buffer pulling down -Vy/Vsc and I couldn't find any shorts on the board, but once I pulled it out I found a short between the floating GND node and the topmost output pin of the top IC.

If Tom's sugestion comes up clear I'd be tempted to try your buffers. I think the EMOS SD is looking bad, SU could be ok.
