Good to know, so far the AS15 I get from EBAY, I get 4 good one out of 5 , last batch was 3 out of 5. I order them 5 at a time

I've bought several components from e-earth on eBay with good results, including the AS15-F chip. I wouldn't trust a Chinese chip.

The manfacturer is based in Taiwan so I'm not sure how you expect to avoid a Chinese chip...
I think most of the parts are probably ex-stock and there's some kind of design flaw which is unrelated to temperature causing early failure (moisture ingress? ESD?)

Definitely, I'd rather pay a little more and get it quicker, for me £5 ($8) for a gamma chip isn't much to pay if it gets the problem sorted out quickly.

I tried shopjimmy.com's youtube video on how to identify the model number, however it wasnt of much help as they say only give solutions if the panel number begins with LT. My panel number does not begin with that and the rest of their tutorial on finding the part number is not useful after that.

The bar code on the board says UT-5537T04C02-89N-2070408-00217-05.

As a total noob, would anyone here recommend I take a shot at replacing the IC?

What is the make and model of the LCD panel then if it is not LT?
How about showing us the picture of this T-CON board? It is AUO right?

Hello,

Newbie here, just adding to this thread instead of starting a new one. I have a Samsung Model LN32A330J1DXZA that has worked fine for the last 6 years until we had a storm the other night and a power surge seems to have taken the picture out. The problem I'm seeing is the lower half of the screen has vertical lines on it. This doesn't quite seem to be the same problem as mentioned in the thread and I'm debating whether it's worth the effort to fix it or not. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks,
