        +stby is 5.6v, the other 2 are reading 0.33v

yes, linking the two should make the power supply rails to come up,then you can check the voltages on the other pins

then we can bring the inverter live by using the same technique but different pins

to confirm the psu is working how it should

What voltage do you measure on 5VSTB and STB while doing this? Note: normally I would use resistor to prevent damage to PSU board, of around 100 to 470 ohms.

My BAD.....I forgot to connect the inverter board cables!!

I get the following voltages now..

from +5vstby and 2 pins below this I get 5.7v, stby is also reading 5.7v

we can try and turn the inverter on.. bl_on pin to +5vstby

with inverter cables connected do you see the back-lights come on?

also with the +5vstby and stby connected, does the 12v rail come up?

but before you do this post up what the writing is next to the connector at the inverter end on each pin.

as in post #18,use a resistor, for the jumpering to limit current

no 24V the inverter will not turn on - Power board is bad.

OK...I've used a resistor to limit the current....there is no 12v while the +5vstby and stby are connected

The back lights do not come on.

As for the writing I've attached a picture wasn't sure what you meant. They are labelled x532 and x521

Second picture is the actual inverter board.

would the 24v be present at the inverter end, after bl_on signal and stby connected?, ,maybee its generated after the bl_on signal is present

24V is usually present before BL ON changes.

                                            Hello everyone,
I am asking for your help because I am having a problem with no image on an MSI GE62VR 6RF Apache Pro.
Here is a list of things I have checked:
                                            - Removed/reinserted the RAM
                                            - Removed the hard drive
                                            - Removed the SSD
                                            - Connected via HDMI -> no image
                                            - Tested caps lock -> working
                                            - USB key -> “activity” (LED flashes when inserted)
                                            - Reflashed the BIOS with CH341 using a version found on the MSI website (then checked the dump read with UEFI Tool) -> same result
                                            - Checked the power rails around the CPU on the...

It's possible that the problem is in the EFI (BIOS),
who has the EFI ROM file please share

Has anyone ever removed the shielding from the 820-02536 board to access some components ?
I need to check the 5V (PP5V_CHGR_SW) and other points.
