    Done ANY diagnosis of fault?
    Did it occur suddenly?
No audio, no back light? (screen glow slightly)
Skills / abilities -- do you have a multimeter (digital one?)
    Screwdriver to take it apart
    Camera to get pics?

Thanks for the reply guys, my skills are limited to electronics im afraid and I don't have a multimeter. I may be able to source one from a friend at work if I can. I have taken the back cover off and it has a PLCD 190 PT3 power board or power supply board.

The screen remains black when switched on.

The tv is responds to the remote and the standby button on the side by the standby light going from a bright red to a dim red. That's the only response from it.

I'll try getting pics on here but please bear with me Im not entirely sure how to do that.

        Thanks

Ive not done any diagnosis of the fault. I'm not sure where to start really. I've checked the psu board and can't see any bad caps.?

Did it occur suddenly? Yes it did
No audio, no back light? (screen glow slightly) No audio and back light...I can't see a glow on the screen, maybe if turned the lights off to be sure??
Skills / abilities -- limited but can try I understand a little

The only diagnostics I have done is take voltages with a meter. there is no audio or back light no screen glow.

When I turn the tv on its in auto in standby. I get 11.5v on 3 pins and on 2 of them voltage doesnt stay up. I also get 25.5v in 2 places (+12vL) and these also don't stay up. The only voltage to stay up is the +5vstby which shows a constant 11.5v.

when I press the stby button on the remote I get a constant 25.5v in the +12vL pins. I also get a constant 11.5v at the 5vstby pins.

hope this makes sense. I have a picture showing all the voltages...on left when on stby, on right when stby pressed on from remote.

                Thanks

Set your meter to DC not AC. Also check the battery is fresh, those readings are much too high.

PSU voltages look OK, so it's probably a main board fault.

voltages when on? can you find any fuses other than the mains one
may be labelled F*** but may look nothing like a mains fuse - can be square box
upright barrel, torpedo , and all colours
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

check ps_on signal at mainboard end, keep meter connected to this pin,and power up tv,does it rise and stay,or just drop off?

The only3 voltages coming up when turned on are where the 5.6v were showing. I get 5.6v at the +5vstby pin, the other 2 are showing 0.33v.

I cant find a fuse on the main board similar to how you mentioned, maybe Im looking in the wrong place??

check around the connectors,it will be a SMD on a mainboard

disconnect main board, jumper across 5v_stby to ps_on,do all other voltages turn up?,use a resistor to limit current, not sure if you have done this test with mainboard gone
