this is understandable! just explain how to get out of the dfu if it’s stuck in it? To start Internet recovery you need to correctly complete the DFU mode!

I haven’t reached the activation window yet, it doesn’t work with the DFU!

I've just swapped T2 from one a1989 (that was not working - burned display pin in cpu). To another a1989 that was icloud locked. Nothing else just T2
First thing you have to do is boot to DFU and connect to another macbook with Apple configurator 2. Device must be shown as apple device (under DFU in apple configurator, if it shows DFU but under is Unknown device that is probably because T2 is bad or bad soldered)
second Revive (that can end with error - but you need to have apple logo at least on the macbook)
third when it finished (at least for me it was so) macbook started in DFU and i go to Restore via apple configurator (whole process until padlock)
then macbook started that no OS installed (flashing folder icon). I've restarted it in internet recovery (CMD + Option + R) reinstalled os and it's working.
everything except fingerprint (i have to find correct fingerprint that was married with that T2)Comment

by MyronViegasHey guys,
I got a MacBook Pro a1989 820-00850-A dead for repair. The MacBook itself was off for a month or so and it didn't power on. I tested using ammeter and it was stuck on 5v. Opened the machine and found a short on ppbus_g3h, corrosion near the right spkr_amp. removed the spkr_amp and saw short on ppbus_g3h. plugged in to power, boosted to 20v .600A and then back down to .300A. Trackpad was clicking when on .600A but no image etc.
Later, I tried again but it dropped down to 5v and never boosted back to 20V. checked board again and found ppbus_g3h shorted again....10-06-2025, 08:45 AM -
by martyjelenHello,
I need help with Macbook A1989. It stuck at 5V / 5mA.
I already do some measurements https://logi.wiki/index.php/CD3215_Bootup_Sequence
PP20V_USBC_XB_VBUS - 5V
PP3V3_UPC_XB_LDO - 3V
PP1V8_UPC_XB_LDOA - 1.8V
PP1V8_UPC_XB_LDOD -1.8V
PP1V1_UPC_XB_LDO_BMC - 0V
It's the same on all CD3215. There is no signs of corrosion or something like that.
What should I check?
Thanks for help.
Thanks

Hi,
Preface : My primary job it's not repairing logic board, so please excuse me.
The Macbook A1989 is stuck at 5v at 0.3A on three usb-c port, and in one port no absorption, so the incriminated chip may be the CD3125.
I'have read that these mac have two CD3125 in daisy chain.
How can i confirm my diagnose before reballing it? Someone have experience with this issue?... -
by Ledgurrahello! hope you are all well. i have a macbook pro a1425 and it won't turn on. i took it to the service center and they said it's fine, it turned on 2 times and then it wouldn't turn on. on the power supply there is a yellow dot that is charging and turns green when charging but when i turn it on it doesn't turn on. i opened it and saw on the motherboard that 2 elements are missing, i am attaching the photos for you to understand better.
thank you all6 Photos -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... - Loading...
