No, take out loop and use 10A range to measure current.

turn the dial to red 10amp and move the black test lead up to the other 10amp hole would be my guess but let tom confirm.

            Re: panasonic tx42-p42x20b

Basically that but instead red probe in 10A and black probe in COM. (Although Vince's suggestion works it would give a negative reading.)
Then remove wire jumper and stick meter across blown fuse.

You could solder wires to ends of fuse and attach probes to them - then try to get worst case 15V current, for example when the TV turns on, when it is on Freeview/Freesat, when it is on HDMI, etc. Try to find maximum then double it for a good fuse rating.

That looks OK, can you try and plug HDMI into it, etc. try to get maximum current.
                          Soldering wires here works best.

Should be ok. Just make the solder joints clean and solid, if you are using multistrand wire it can be helpful to wrap up and tin the ends beforehand.

So far, 0.4A is the highest you've seen? What do you see when the TV first turns on? Loud audio make any difference? Try Freesat, Freeview, guide mode, etc...

Looks like a 1A fuse should do, slow blow type.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                                            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
